"Token of Water"
A Cyborg Soldier 009 fanfic.
Disclaimer: Cyborg 009 isn't my propierty, but an artwork piece that came from the brains and brawns of Shotarou Ishinomori. This fanfic was written just for fun and planned ONLY for such a purpose, apart of C&C from you. Mina-chan doesn't take any responsabilities for any kind of shock. I did warn you anyway!
---
Water flows, it comes and goes. It takes the shape of its recipient, it's transparent if clean,. And it's the house to all sorts of life, from whales to microspcopic beings. Dr. Gilmore says water is the origin of all sources of life, and Hinduists believe that you'll go to Heaven directly if the death rituals are performed in their sacred rivers, like the Ganges. And you can't survive more than few days without it...
Water is my realm of sorts since I became a Cyborg. I didn't ask for it, though. After a guerrilla fight in the jungles of Muwamba, my country, I was seriously wounded and left there to die – then, Black Ghosts took advantage of it to capture me and make me one of their Guinea pigs.
I shouldn't feel thankful to the ones who wanted me as their metal puppet. But had they not chosen me, my body wouldn't be fit enough to resist so much under water, then I'd be unable to appreciate the wonders within.
From a while ago, I've taken up the habit of diving and checking the Dolphin's sea surroundings. Scouting sessions similar to these would be dull for everyone else (and yes, Jet, I'm talking to you), but even while I still make my best into mantaining my senses majorly focused in my self-imposed task, I'm not blinded to what the sea wants to show me.
And what I see right now it's pure beauty. Sea plants in sort of bloom, small and colourful fish swimming right in front of me, some shiny stones and sea stars laying on the sand at the sea bottom. All of this offers me a wondeful view, which I thoughly enjoy, wishing that Black Ghost doesn't pollute it with its poisoned desire for dominance of this still-beautiful world...
Ah, a child-like voice is suddenly speaking right to my mind.
"Punma?", Ivan softly calls out to me. "Francoise scouted the area with her powers this times, and she says there's no sight of anyone from Black Ghost in several miles around. You and Jet can come back. Chang says dinner is ready, by the way, and he thanks you for the fish you brought in the morning".
Still smiling, I swim back to the surface. As my head raises from the water, I see Jet flying closer to me. As he helps me to go back to the close-by Dolphin, I'm still thinking of my last visit to the sea.
While it stays pure and clean, the sea is one of the best things ever. And I'm reminded of it every time I dive into its blue embrace, like a king checking on his realm.
I love this watery world of my own. Really, I do.
