Loki swore under his breath, "You've got to be kidding me."
He had a smile on his face but his eyes were grim, refusing to believe the situation he was placed in. He knew that nothing good can come from being forced to marry Wendy, especially since it was placed under the King's orders, but he thought that if he were the one forced to marry her, then he could do something to change their future. Both the Vittra's and the Trylle's, and theirs. But he doubted that Wendy would realise his intentions right away, especially since he was technically 'in kahoots' with the King.
He groaned, running his hands through his face to prevent himself from destroying any of the castle walls. It would not make his situation any better if he were to destroy something, right now. Because of that thought, he groaned even louder. Thankfully, he was the only one in the room.
"Sara!" He bellowed. A few seconds later, the soft pitter-patter of her heels could be heard from outside the door. Before she could question him, he spoke, his voice rough like gravel but loud and clear. "What in God's name have you agreed me to do? I get that the two of you are so, very desperate," he said with a fake tone of distress as if sympathising with them, only for it to turn hard towards the end, "But I didn't think that you'd stoop down as low as playing cupid for me!"
A bit of him felt like joking about how he felt that the King and Sara thought that he was so incompetent at finding love that they would set him up with the other kingdom's Princess, but his outward-self felt too pissed to do so.
"This is for the sake of our Kingdom, Loki; for the sake of the King's happiness. You know that this is what he wants, and when he's happy the so are we." Sara argued.
"To Hell with his happiness!" He shouted, though he hoped that he did not hear that. Still, Loki was angry. The King has taken many things away from Loki, now he felt more like a puppet than he had ever before. He slumped on the chair with his fingers on his right temple, in hope that he would wake from this nightmare.
"Would you rather he procreates with his daughter?" Sara's patience was wearing thin, he realised. His shoulders tensed at the idea of him... doing so. He was a much better person for Wendy, as much as he didn't like the idea. He was sure that she opposed to it as well, but there was nothing he could do. He could complain but that would lead him nowhere, that was unless he wanted his back to be scarred even more, and his arm broken.
"I just want you to see things from our perspective," she sighed, and with that she left the room, disappointed in Loki. But he didn't feel the same, he couldn't relate to her and it terrified him that she was no longer the same girl he met years ago. People change, and he knew that, but this change scared him.
