'Claire open the door!'

'Claire!'

The brunette struggled to keep hold of the bulky grocery bags she was carrying. She banged on the door with her foot to try and get Claire's attention before hearing footsteps and the sound of the door unlocking.

'It took you long enough' Jill huffed. 'What were you doing in there?' Barging her way into the apartment she kicked off her shoes whilst Claire grabbed the bags from her arms.

Their German Shepard dog jumped up at Jill and she ruffled its fur, she was happy to have her hands free at last. 'Sit.' She pointed at the dog and gestured for it to sit down. The dog obeyed and Jill reached for a treat from a jar on the counter. 'Good boy Hunter. 'She said, letting the dog take the treat from her hand.

'Sorry I was in the middle of something.' Claire said as she set the bags onto the kitchen worktop.

She glanced around Jill to look at the TV.

'You were playing a video game?!' Jill scoffed. 'Surely you could have paused it to let me in. You know I don't have my key.'

'I couldn't pause it, I was playing online and I was in the middle of a battle.' Claire's voice trailed off into a mumble. 'I'm sorry, you know I get carried away sometimes'

'Well I was stood out there struggling with those heavy bags, I suppose I'm not as important to you as your game' Jill rubbed her arm and winced as if in pain.

Claire grinned 'don't be ridiculous, your arms are used to carrying heavy things.' She squeezed Jill's arm, feeling her muscular bicep, and laughed. 'See you have giant muscles!'

'Okay okay' Jill tried to hide a smile 'But I think you should make me cup of tea to make up for being so mean.' She walked over to the TV and plopped herself down onto the comfy leather couch. Hunter followed her and she patted the couch so the dog would sit next to her. 'I'll just be waiting here, playing your stupid game.'

Claire raised her eyebrows and turned around to make tea. She didn't think that game was stupid last weekend when she stayed up all night playing it Claire thought and laughed to herself.

She swept her long red hair up into a ponytail and filled the kettle with some water. She could hear Jill getting angry at the TV and muttering something about the game.

Claire walked over to the living area with two cups of steaming tea, setting them on the coffee table she sunk down on the couch next to Jill. 'There you go my love, am I forgiven now?' Claire jested and leaned back into the cushion.

'I suppose so' Jill stretched and put her feet up onto the coffee table. 'How did you level your character up so much, and where did you get all that gear from?' She leaned forwards and glared at the television screen. Claire's in game character was bulked up with high quality armour and powerful weapons. 'It took me so long to get my character to level 50 and yours is at 85.' She turned to face the redhead who had a smug look on her face.

'It's because unlike you, I have friends who want to play online with me' Claire smirked. 'Probably because I don't get mad and yell into the headset.' She laughed.

'Whatever, it's a stupid game anyway.' Jill threw the controller onto the other side of the couch and then leant forwards to pick up her tea. She took a sip and smiled. 'You always make the best tea.'

'I know.' Claire grinned, leaning over to kiss Jill on the cheek. 'Hey why don't we take Hunter out for a walk while it's still light outside?'

'Sure, that sounds like a good idea.' Jill took another sip of tea. 'I bought some snacks so we could watch a movie when we get back.'

Claire's face brightened at the mention of food. 'Do you have anything in mind that you want to watch?' She asked and looked at Jill.

'As long as it's not anything with zombies then I'm happy' Jill nodded and they both laughed.
