A tale of two

Chapter 1: The pain of being immortal As Iarorodiel sat by her father's bedside and held his hand she realized that he would not be around much longer, it broke her heart seeing the man that she had seen as a hero for so long in such a weekend state. "Father I will be back shortly I must speak to my mother" Iarorodiel whispered to her father. "Hurry back my daughter I have a request to ask of you" her father Aragorn said as he coughed. She stood up from her father's side and went to find her mother who she found in the study. Her mother Arwen turned to her and it was obvious that she had been weeping "My child this is a hard time for us all but it is one of those times that you will learn the price of being immortal" her mother said wiping tears from her eyes. "Why did you fall for him if you knew that he would die eventually, sorry if I'm being harsh but I'm just curious" Iarorodiel asked. "Because my dear sometimes things happen that you don't plan and even though I knew your father would die eventually I didn't care I fell in love with him the first time I saw him" Arwen sighed. "I must go Mother father has something to ask me and I said I would hurry back" Iarorodiel sighed getting up and walking out. As she approached her fathers room she began to wonder what he would request of her, she walked in seeing him sat up reading and because of how he had been the past few days this filled her with hope. "Daughter listen to me carefully I need you to go to Mirkwood for me and bring a man to me called Legolas Greenleaf it is urgent that I speak with him" Aragorn said as his only daughter stared at him in disbelief. "Isn't Legolas the elf who was in the fellowship with you years ago" Iarorodiel asked sounding amazed. "Yes he is and I need to speak with him urgently, now hurry up and prepare you will leave early in the morning" Aragorn said urging his daughter. As she left his room her head was swimming with questions that she knew would not be answered.
