Hi, this is once again ANOTHER Lupin/Tonks fanfic that I suddenly thought about when I took a quiz to find out what my Patronus was! Which is, by the way, a wolf! I feel awesome! Enjoy the story!
I can't believe Snape had the nerve to insult my new Patronus. And Remus. Jerk. Git. Prat. Arse. I could go on and on with my list of bad words for Snape.
I happened to love my new Patronus. It was a werewolf. I cast it several times down by the lake when I looked into its eyes and realized that it wasn't just a werewolf. It was Remus. As a werewolf. I could recognize his beautiful, warm eyes anywhere.
I desperately wanted to go to the Shrieking Shack, where I knew he would be tonight. Molly had told me he stopped by the Burrow. He was here for a couple days while Greyback was off on his monthly routine to turn children.
I decided to go to the Three Broomsticks for a Butterbeer. I was becoming like Sirius, drowning my problems in alcohol. However, it was a Saturday night, not a weekday when I had my Auror duties.
I took my Butterbeer and sat down in a quiet part of Hogsmeade, watching the full moon angrily. The stupid moon was the only reason I wasn't in Remus's arms right now.
"Fancy seeing you here Nymphadora," someone sneered from behind me. I turned to see Snape sitting on the bench next to me. I scowled.
"It's Tonks." I looked back at the moon.
"Look, I usually don't say this, but I'm sorry I insulted your Patronus. I really shouldn't have said that," he said in a very un-Snape like manner.
"You shouldn't have," I agreed. "You needed a break too?" I asked, gesturing to his Butterbeer.
"Yeah," he replied. "You know, you're not the only one I know to have their Patronus changed."
"Really?" I asked curiously. "Who else did?"
"I did," he confessed.
"What did it change to?" I asked.
"A doe." He stopped and looked at me sadly. "The reason was because I was in love with Lily Evans."
"You were in love with Harry's mum? Lily Potter?" I was intrigued. I would've never thought that.
"Yes. My Patronus was a snake until fifth year," said Snape. "I was surprised when I saw your werewolf Patronus. I thought I was the only one whose Patronus changed out of love. You must really love Lupin."
"I do," I said. "I hate the moon."
"So do I," he said. "I was almost killed by Lupin during a full moon. If James Potter hadn't saved me, I'd be dead."
"Merlin, Remus almost killed you!" I exclaimed.
"Not on purpose," he assured me. "There was no Wolfsbane when we were in school."
"Okay," I said, letting out a sigh of relief.
"There's someone else." I waited expectantly for him to continue. "It's Lupin."
"What did his Patronus change into?" I asked.
"To your old Patronus. A rabbit," Snape said.
"Blimey." That was the only thing I could say.
"Well, we should stop talking and drink out Butterbeers. They're going to freeze up," he said. I nodded in agreement and took a sip.
"To broken hearts," I said, raising my mug up.
"To broken hearts," he repeated, and we clanked our mugs together.
Snape and I sat there for the rest of the night, talking about Lily and Remus, while listening to his sad, mournful howls.
So, what'd ya think? I know Snape is a bit OOC, but it's only because he knows what it's like to have a Patronus change form. Nothing mean please! Please review!
