Chapter 1- He has returned
"Is it finally time to pick her up, Sesshomaru-sama?"
"Isn't it obvious, Jaken?"
"Ah…yes" Jaken sighed. Sesshomaru-sama hasn't spoken about Rin, in a long time. Ten years, without that noisy, idiotic girl. How lonely….
"I wonder how much she has grown up, right Sesshomaru-sama?"
"Hn." was the only reply.
"Rin!"
"Hai~ Kaede-sama! Please wait! I'm coming~" Rin yelled while carrying the water from the river.
"Finally! The second child of Inuyasha-nii-san's and Kagome-nee-san's is coming~ I wonder if it's a girl or a boy?" She thought as she hummed a sweet melody and went off to finish her duty.
"WAA! WAA!" The hanyou baby cried, taking its first breath into the world.
"It's a girl, Kagome!" Kaede said, "a healthy girl."
"She looks exactly like her mother except for the ears." Rin giggled while taking the chance to play with the baby's irresistible ears.
"What will you name her?" Rin asked with intense curiosity.
Inuyasha responded proudly "Kaoru".
"Inuyasha, I told you that we were going to name a baby girl "Aoi", did I not? Kagome said with an extremely happy face that was filled with creepiness.
But Inuyasha still had the guts to answer back.
"I don't like "Aoi" besides you don't have a talent for choosing names."
There was already a tension and danger was building up into the atmosphere and Kagome's face foreshadowed doom.
And there it was, the famous- "Inuyasha! Osuwari! Osuwari! Osuwari! "
Slight whimpers of protest and cursing illuminated from Inuyasha and for a moment, died away.
Rin sighed. This was a daily occurrence since Kagome-nee-san became pregnant. She is still so cheerful after just given birth. "But all is well" She said to the baby while smiling at the two head over heels in love, violent couple.
After everything was settled, the hut finally became calm and quiet and Rin felt like a third wheel; interrupting the peace time of Kagome and Inuyasha with their baby.
"I think I'll leave them alone." She thought as she tiptoed outside.
A fresh scent enveloped her as soon as she was out, sakura flowers were in bloom and dark clouds hugged the sky, threatening to rain and thunder. Rin started to run toward the forest to protect her precious flowers that contained the memories of her most precious companions.
"They can't die." She thought desperately. As she got nearer, a purple light surrounded her and she was blinded temporarily. A giant goblin youkai was in her sight and while smirking, he said "Oh~ A delicious human girl, what luck!"
"I left my arrows back at the hut…." She looked around frantically searching for a pungent item. The youkai then lunged at her, with red eyes and disgusting body searing of corpses.
"Sesshomaru-sama!" Her mind screamed and suddenly she felt a swift movement around her; the beast was killed, she thought based on that strident cry.
"Rin." A cold voice called.
Time seemed to stop at that moment; a moment at the owner of the voice would disappear if she were to open her eyes. And yet, hesitating, she slowly opened her tear-filled eyes to meet her majestic savior.
"Rin, I've come back."
"Hai, Sesshomaru-sama" she smiled gently, radiating like the sun and letting the tears fall down her rosy cheeks.
