Gentleman
Part One
Heavy music was pounding louder and louder. She never understood how any normal human being could possibly enjoy such music but the same could not be said by her companion for the night.
"OH YEAH BABY! YO HO HO HO!" Brook, a 46 year old man who was wearing a very quirky outfit with a neon coloured blue headband and bright green pants.
"NAMI! STOP SULKING AND ENJOY!" By yelling into her ears, earned him a smack on the head.
"OW! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?! I JUST WANTED YOU TO HAVE FUN! " Brook shouted again, earning a punch that time.
"STOP SCREAMING IN MY EARS! URGH, I'M OUT OF HERE!" Nami declared as she pushed through the crowds.
She swore to Luffy who got sick in the last moment and made her come here. Hmmf, that taught him to never eat unfinished cooked meat again.
Nami messaged her for head for relief. She definitely needed painkillers.
She breathed in the fresh air that welcomed her as soon as she stepped outside. She looked up at the deep indigo sky, covered with grey clouds, and wished she was able to see the stars. A slight breeze passed, adding a slight chill while she rubbed her arms for warmth.
Suddenly she heard a low cough, and her eyes settled on a man. Perhaps a bodyguard, who was about to lite a cigarette but stopped midway when he noticed her.
A slight sparkle was shown in his eyes for a second.
"Do you mind?"
Her eyes furrowed in confusion. Not many men would ask someone before smoking. She shook her head in response.
He nodded and proceeded, inhaled the smoke before he exhaled, leaning his head back while doing so.
For unknown reason, she felt she knew this man.
Nami stared at the man for quite some time until he looked at her again. He shot her a small smile.
"Aren't you going back in?"
She blinked before looking at the door and then back at him. He had blue eyes.
"No."
He put his cigarette away at trashcan next to him before looking intently at her.
"Are you by yourself?"
She could tell the truth, saying her idiot friend was still inside but for some reason, she wanted to lie. However lying was not a forte but her best friend, Usopp's. She had to admit that Usopp was a bad influence on her. But even so...
"Yes. I was with someone but... He left."
He stared at her.
He intently stared at her, making her wonder whether her makeup was smudged or her hair got messed up because of the breeze, which reminded her of how chilly it was.
All of a sudden he brought out a hand out in front of her. Nami stared into his unmoving eyes while he pulled on a warm smile.
"How about I drop you home? It's awfully late and it will be rude of me to leave a beautiful lady like yourself all alone at this time in the night."
Nami's heart started to beat a bit faster than normal before she licked her lips. His eyes glanced down a bit before looking at her again. Sweat started to form on her forehead before she nervously sighed.
"U-Um, I just don't randomly... I mean I don't know you so I can't... U-Um." She paused as the stranger chuckled softly.
"No worries there. I also don't know you. I was just looking out for a beautiful women. Especially..." He looked down at her before looking back up. "Who is dressed rather sexy for a club like this. You never know what kind of predators are lurking."
She also looked at her short purple dress and wondered why she wore this. She knew the club was going to be some sort of disco kind of theme tonight and yet she wore this.
Maybe she was desperate? That could be... Yeah, no.
She also noted how he wasn't really dressed like the folks inside... Oh right, a bodyguard!
She awkwardly chuckled too before taking his hanging hand. "It won't cause any trouble for you?"
He grinned before lifting her hand and planted a light kiss her knuckles. She gasped at the feeling of the slight stubble from his chin and lips.
He looked back her and smirked to her reddened cheeks, "absolutely not."
Her face was completely flushed and the man could not hide his grin on his face.
Embarrassed was an understatement. However, she couldn't believe herself, behaving how she was now. Usually men didn't fluster her so easily...
Then what was so different?
Without realising, she asked for his name, and again, her cheeks reddened. There was no doubt in her mind, she resembled a tomato at that moment.
The man eyes widened before he chuckled. "How ungentleman of me." My name is Sanji. And may I ask for yours, mademoiselle?"
She sighed softly, "Nami."
