wrote this in math class, super-short. Oh well. R & R please!
Rosie loved Samwise with all of her heart.
Before his adventures with Frodo Baggins and his help in saving Middle Earth from the second reign of Sauron, he was timid and shy around her. She liked him, a lot, but he never seemed like the feeling was mutual. Frodo had to constantly force him to talk to Rosie, or dance with her at parties.
Then he ran off with Frodo, Merry, and Pippin, vanishing into the night to never be heard from again. News came to the Shire of four Hobbits carrying the One Ring of legend with a man of Gondor, a Ranger, an elf, a dwarf, and a wizard. Rosie hoped that one of those Hobbits was Sam, and that he was safe.
Then news came of the destruction of the ring and Sauron for good, the crowning of the King of Gondor, and the return of the four heroes of the Shire.
Finally, Samwise Gamgee came home. Not two days in his return, he approached Rosie in the bar she worked at and proceeded to ask her to marry him. Her joyous "yes" and subsequent kiss lead them to their wedding day, weeks later, and the eventual birth of their daughter, then their son.
Sam was different - he was bolder and he stood taller. He spoke clearly and questioned many things. He took care of Rosie and his children, and taught them how to be strong. He told amazing stories of a brave man named Boromir and a very old wizard. He spoke of an elf-queen who could speak in your mind and a giant spider who lives at the top of a staircase. His fantastical stories told of lands of fire, darkness, and monsters, forests and rivers, mounts that are frozen and mounts that are burning.
He was a little bit broken, and Rosie fixed him. She held his hand and stood up for him in the face of prejudice. She held him when he remembered his lost friends, and kissed him when he needed it. She loved him, even in his dark moments.
They were perfect for each other, and the entire Shire knew it.
