Have you ever been in the tropics during a hurricane? The air is dense, the rain is warm, and wind is insane as it picks up speed. And then all of the sudden, things are calm again. The eyewall is one of the most dangerous parts of the storm; the winds are the most damaging and has the heaviest amount of rainfall. But the worst part of the hurricane is the backside. The backside of a hurricane will strike much harder than than the front will. This is where most of the destruction comes from.
