A/N: A little plot bunny :) Hopefully you'll enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own the world of Harry Potter :(
I had known Lily Evans for half my life; she had been my best friend before we came to Hogwarts. We had drifted apart, and we hadn't had any kind of conversation for a year and a half now. Yet, I felt like I knew her pretty well. But this was something I had never expected from Lily.
Sure, I had said the same thing when she started dating Potter, almost two months ago now. Potter, one of the people I despised most. By dating Lily, he made me despise him even more; not that he'd care. He was part of the popular crowd, and I wasn't. After two months, he was still permanently on cloud nine, because Lily had agreed to go out with him.
I loved her too; I loved her first. Seeing this sickened me as well. Still, I had had to watch Potter do the same thing to her for two months now, at least a couple of times every single day. You could say that I was used to it. For Potter, it would be a larger blow. But like some odd Muggles say, karma's a bitch.
I was walking through the hallways that night, without any idea why or any direction whereto. My attention was caught by muffled sounds coming out of some classroom. That would cause a nice scene if one of the Professors (or Prefects, even) would come by. Of course, I'd get in trouble too, but I should be able to figure something out.
Having become curious, I peeked inside. My curiosity still got the best of me, though I should know better (especially after a certain incident in 5th year, which featured me, as a werewolf's prey, and, of course, Potter and his gang). Gaping, I witnessed the scene in front of me. I didn't see what exactly they were doing (thankfully), but one of them was, without a doubt, Lily Evans. I recognised the hair. Everyone in this school does. The other person, if anything, certainly wasn't Potter.
Who he was, I had no idea. He didn't even look like a Hogwarts student, now that I thought about it. Even though I now wanted to move away, I soon found that I couldn't. My eyes were glued to the scene, as if I found it very intriguing what happened there. Let me tell you one thing, it certainly wasn't. It was disgusting, and not just a little bit.
This wasn't the Lily Evans I knew. It couldn't be. I was sure that, if I hadn't screwed up like I had at the end of our fifth year, we might still be friends. She's loyal, she's a good person. What she was doing now was the exact opposite. If her boyfriend had been anyone else, I'd feel bad for him. But since it was Potter, I just couldn't. This was perfect payback, even if it was completely out of character for Lily.
He was all over her, and she was all over him. There was no denying it: she was cheating on her boyfriend. But honestly Lily, in a deserted classroom? She was Head Girl, surely she could find a more sufficient spot and time. Not that I cared. As long as it wasn't me there, with her, I felt as if she was cheating on me as well. Something I had gotten quite used to since she was with Potter, but still.
As they started disentangling themselves from one another, I took that as my cue to leave. I sprinted back to the Slytherin common room, to my dorm, and fell down on my bed. I wasn't going on a nightly adventure ever again.
When I entered the Great Hall the next morning, I quickly glanced at the Gryffindor table. Potter was, once again, making it known to the entire school how much he adored Lily, and she was only encouraging him.
Helping myself to some toast, I looked around the Hall, but the boy I had seen Lily with was nowhere to be seen. Curious; I was really starting to wonder now what had happened last night.
A/N: Well, what do you think? Let me know, please review!
