A Smile
She had a smile. A smile that told everyone she was back. A smile that said she was pleased to be back. However not everyone appreciated the smile. To them it was a sign that she had forgotten., forgotten what she did to them. She was smiling, smiling at them as if the incident didn't happen. She was back and for them the memory of what she did came flooding back. Her presence made everyone angry. Everyone hated seeing her, she was the one who was responsible for her departure, the one who didn't seem to care that everyone was still reeling with their grief after what happened. She was back and no one had any inkling of why. Fury was soon amongst everyone in the department when they found out the truth of why she was back. They were completely lost for words when they found out the Trust had wanted her back. They were furious at the Trust for even thinking about bringing her back after they knew what she had done. What made matters worse was the fact that she had come back and acted as if nothing was her fault. She was mad at the staff for not being happy to see her but why would they be pleased ? Why would they want her back ? She had just got en rid of one of the best doctors the hospital's ever had and she was expecting them to be pleased to see her return. Not even once did she react when they mentioned that she was responsible. She just kept on smiling, talking to everyone, saying life had to move on. She told everyone they had to move on, forget everything that had happened over the past year. But how could they move on ? How could they forget ? The incident was traumatic, but she didn't care. She didn't care that she had hurt someone, hurt someone close to them. She only cared about herself and her precious clinic. She didn't care about anyone else. Everyone was still feeling the grey cloud that she had cast over them but she ? She just kept on smiling.
