"Sasuke, you've got to let go. She's gone. She's dead."
"No, she's just making me wait, like I made her wait."
"You have a kid, teme, you can't keep hanging on like this, isn't he important?"
"That monster is nothing to me."
He could only stare in bewilderment at his best friend's retreating back.
"Mr. Uchiha I'm sorry to inform you that your wife passed away while in labor."
Nononononono
"But your son survived, would you like to see him?"
No…
"They all think I'm crazy, neh? But I don't care. You'll wake up soon, and they'll see."
Her floating form appeared more fragile than the glass that held her. He traced her washed out facial features through the transparent material.
"You're just recovering. That monster hurt you, didn't it?"
Her white sun dress billowed out in response. His smirk turned darker, crueler.
"Don't worry; no one will ever touch you again."
"Sasuke-kun, what's wrong? You keep spacing out."
"…Marry me." It wasn't a question.
"W-what?"
"I don't repeat myself." But his eyes seemed different, a little more desperate, a little less emotionless.
"…Ok."
"What are you doing? Get away from her, don't touch her!"
The shinobi turned to him alarmed, Tsunade just continued to disengage the life preserve. Slowly Sakura's from sunk to the tube's floor. He ran to stop her, but was held back by a group of elites.
"It's over Uchiha, I'm shutting down the preserve."
"Stop it, stop it!"
His chidori charged up. Bodies flew, ninjas fled. Tsunade was knocked unconscious by a piece of metal.
She was quiet, something was wrong. Why isn't she talking, she's supposed to be annoying, why isn't she being annoying?
"Sakura w-I'm pregnant Sasuke-kun."
It was silent for a while, she fidgeted and he went blank.
Then he smirked, "Good."
The area was a mess, metal and broken glass were scattered across the floor. He sat in the middle of it, holding his wife's body. Staring at her, waiting.
"Wake up. Sakura, open your eyes. Wake up."
Wakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupohgodpleasewakeup.
She didn't move, his body started to shake. A laugh, cracked and senile, broke through the air.
"You're enjoying this aren't you? This is a game to you; you're just trying to get back at me."
The laugh faded, his features turned gloomy.
"Why won't you wake up? Did I really hurt you this much? I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
She remained a doll. Unsteadily he laid her gently on the floor, stood, and slowly walked towards the door. Seconds after it'd closed, a pair of green eyes cracked open.
"Sasuke…kun?"
