(A/N): Hey Everyone! So this is just a little story about Thorin and Kili and Fili. Please read and review! Thank you!

Thorin glanced around the battlefield that laid before him. Bodies of elves, dwarves, orcs, warts, and men alike were a strewn on the battlefield. Thorin spotted his dear nephews fighting side by side. Thorin let out a breath of relief. The fear of them not being alive had brought tears rim his eyes. They were covered with assortment of bruises but nothing else. Fili caught the gaze of his uncle. His uncle was gleaming in the dark gloom with his shining armor. Thorin was always a father figure when it came to him and Kili. He had taken care of them since they were little dwarves-lad. Panic rose in his veins as a cluster of arrows were headed towards Thorin. Fili looked at Kili and knew he had saw the same. They lunged to their uncle's aid fore he couldn't see the arrows headed his way. Fili and Kili arrived at Thorin's side in time to push him away from the arrows. The arrows pierced their armor, digging into their flesh. Both brothers fell to the ground, gasping in pain. Their uncle looked at his nephews in astoundment. They had saved him. His sweet nephews, sons of his dear sister, had saved him. Hot tears fell down on his cheeks. Thorin knelt by Fili and Kili, murmuring in their ears.

"My dearest nephews, you've both been brave and courageous on this remarkable journey. I am forever in your debt. Shall you both rest in peace", he said gravely. Thorin reached over Kili to close his eyes, allowing him a moment of peace before his soul was whisked to the Afterworld. Thorin's heart clenched as he move over to close Fili's eyes from the battle before him. He rose from the ground as you could imagine, his heart filled with grief. Thorin began to feel anger, fore the battle had stole his loved ones.

"Whoever fired those wrenched arrows shall pay for my lose!" he said. The battle was intensifying. The bodyguard of Bolg came dashing through the forest, arms raised high in the air. Thorin rushed to pierce their ranks. He ran as fast as lightning, his weapon aloft. But he could not pierce the ranks of the bodyguard. Spears stabbed into his armor from every direction. One flew into a patch of skin uncovered with mail. Thorin's breath caught in his throat. He fell to his knees, as more spears flew into his skin.

"No," he thought. "No, I'm sorry my dear nephews. I shall not win this battle for you." Darkness overcame Thorin as he closed his eyes for what he thought was the last time. But it wasn't.
