He held her hands in his while she rested her head on his shoulder. He hummed when she caressed his hands with her fingers. "I wish I could stay here..." She whispered and breaking the silence. He nodded and hummed again in response. She frowned as she noticed something different in his mood.
She remained silent for the next moments and kept caressing his hand and fingers softly. "Love?" His voice rang in the room "mmh?" She hummed in a questioning tone. "Why don't you stay?" She didn't release his hand but looked up to his blue eyes that didn't change their brilliance in the dark room.
"You know I can't Niles…" he sighed and freed his hand from hers "I hate waking up without you" She rested her chin on his chest and kept her eyes on him. "I know lover…but you know why we have to be careful…" "Yes I know…but I hate it that we have to hide our love…"
She softly ran her fingertips over his jaw line and cheek "Come on ButlerBoy….show me that handsome smile of yours" He couldn't help but smile and she smiled back. "That's what I want to see…" He let out a chuckle and she shifted until her leg was under his and she could reach his lips with hers.
He closed his eyes and kept smiling when her lips touched his in a soft kiss. He pulled her closer until she was lying on top of him and caressed her back while returning the kiss. She broke the kiss when the need for air was too big to ignore and kept looking at his while following every line of his face with her fingers. "Do you know how much I love you?" She smiled and kissed him again "I think I have a good idea at how much…"
"Then why won't you stay?" She sighed and pulled her lips away again "Niles…" He nodded "Yes…yes…I know…" She knew he was upset and disappointed after these numerous nights of sleeping alone after she left. "Niles, please understand…" He nodded and took his arms away from her, sighing she rolled off him and looked at the clock. "I need to go now…"
He nodded wordlessly and she crawled off the bed to find her clothes, also disappointed at how these nights ended every time. She craved for some change too but the fear for the risks that were with the change was too big. She put on her heels and watched Niles as he put his boxers on. "Want me to drive you home?" She shook her head "No it's alright…I'll just take a taxi home…it's safer if I went alone..."
He nodded and walked towards the door with her. She looked at him and leaned in to kiss him "Bye…" he smiled sadly "Bye Love..." She caressed his cheek a last time and then turned around , closing the door behind her.
A.N: Just a short story that I wrote in class. I already wrote down a continuation of it but I'm not all too pleased with it so I'll see if this remains a oneshot or if I'll continue it... tell me what you think of it though ;)
