Author's Note: Yes occasionally I do have non R-rated thoughts. Not to worry, I'm still working on "Cinnamon Girl," but this ficlet kept on niggling at me. I thought the scene between Josie and Professor Z at the end of "Fate" needed a little more. This takes place before Professor Z returns the Qi Gong ball that he had confiscated earlier back to Josie.
"It's kind of interesting," Josie mused. "The Victor Pearson in the changed timeline, wasn't at all like I expected. Actually, he had your job, but I still didn't trust him. He didn't seem shady like here, just bitter at life. But you, you had to give up your dream of college and a career as a scientist. Except for that awful hairnet, you were still cool and helpful, even though you didn't have the life you wanted."
Z took off his glasses and began polishing them. "I'm glad the other me acted well under adversity. It's sometimes hard to predict how people will act when things don't go your way."
Josie grinned, "I'm sure he made the best burgers in the state, though."
