Sweet Love

Every Friday night, four of the most respected and popular boys of Alice Academy hang out on a bistro downtown Tokyo. This tradition of relaxing out was an idea from Yuu who feared of getting burnout from his representative duties and maintaining topnotch grades. Ruka loved the idea and so was Natsume while Koko was more than excited. After class, they drove straight to the bistro, just the four of them since no girls were allowed hence they also called this Boys Night. What did they usually do? They eat, order drinks, talk, play darts, billiards, or foosball.

They strayed from topics related to studying and if in case they talked about school, they only talked about the events that happened or few interesting members of the school faculty. Anything under the sun, they would talk about. But, they had a favorite topic in which everybody had a say. A topic that each one of them could relate and share mischief. Even if it was rude to talk about a person not present at the occasion, they could not help to be full of words when their topic were their vice versa.

Girls.

Heck, that's their topic every Friday night, no, almost every time they would hang out. They aired their complaints and asked questions on why girls were such confusing creations. One moment they were so sweet and open to possibilities then the next second they were getting angry over not noticing the perfume they used.

Now, they were talking about how silly they would react whenever they ask a girl out or whenever they wanted to make moves to the girl they like.

"Don't drag me into that, I'm different," said Koko in full confidence.

The other three boys looked at him with judgmental eyes. They did not know where that came from.

"What? At least I'm composed when I asked Sumire out!" he added in his initial defense.

"Yeah, but you almost fainted after that," Ruka intervened and sipped his drink.

There was no way they would let Koko mock them.

"I did not!" Koko protested.

"That's why I said almost," Ruka explained with a smile.

"But seriously guys, I'm great am I?" Koko continued to be full of himself.

Yuu could not help but laugh while Natsume only groaned. This was the first time Koko presented himself like this. Usually, he was a reserved guy when it comes to his achievements but certainly not tonight.

"At least, I'm not bad at all unlike this guy beside me." Koko pointed at Natsume.

Seemed like tonight Natsume Hyuuga's death glare did not affect Koko even in the slightest way. Natsume started questioning if Koko was drinking an alcoholic beverage and not just a simple strong juice because he was being oddly arrogant. Natsume already knew what were Koko's next sentences and it involved the words Mikan Sakura on every period. Just this morning, they made a scene again when Natsume proved to the whole class that Mikan Sakura could not do Math.

"Seriously this talk is over," Natsume growled. He dumped his drink on the marble table and glared at Koko once more, hoping for him to shut up.

Koko shook his head in disappointment. "You're so stubborn."

"How many times do I have to repeat myself? I don't like that stupid, annoying, childish and idiotic little girl. She's just an eyesore and not to mention a pig."

"That's why you embarrassed her—again?" Yuu said out of the blue.

Ruka sensed that his best friend was no longer enjoying the topic. Natsume hated it when the spotlight was on him. But these boys liked to tease him because it could bring out the different expressions on Natsume Hyuuga's stoic face.

"Natsume's good with that." Ruka stated the obvious.

"At what now, Ruka?" The crimson eyed boy asked, pissed off already.

Ruka shrugged his shoulders and gave a sarcastic statement. "I don't know. Maybe in getting her attention to the point of embarrassing her?"

All laughed except for Natsume. His irritation was now visible with his eyes closed shut and veins popping in his temple. Koko almost worried the revenge he would be getting from the most sought-after guy of the school. Natsume's clenched knuckles sent shivers to the three. This was the moment when Koko knew he had to do something to lighten the darkening atmosphere.

"Strawberries," Koko started.

Natsume raised a brow. "Huh?"

"You like it don't you?"

"Hell yeah," was Natsume's quick reply.

"Manga?"

"Like it."

"All in your bookshelves?" Koko supplied.

"The hell, would I buy it if I hate it?"

"Sweets?"

"Hate it."

"Saxophone?"

"Hate it."

"Mikan-chan?"

"Love her."

Koko stood up and danced in delight. "Ha! Got you!"

Yuu and Ruka both had their jaws hanging and their eyes widened.

Natsume wanted to sink from the ground he was currently in. He thought of words to counterfeit the revelation he just unveiled. That fast talk made his subconscious talk and he hated himself for showing such vulnerability. All his denial went to waste. Natsume then grabbed Koko by the neck while the latter was still doing his happy dance.

"You mutt! Stop playing games with me!"

Even if Natsume wanted to take back those two words, he could not but that would be lying to his friends and especially to himself and also because he really did mean it.

Oh, stubborn fools.
