"Don't you think it was a little mean to leave Jeri alone don't you ? Guilmon ?" Takato said as he watched Guilmon cry up against a tree
"Why do humans have to be so sad Takato ?" Guilmon asked between sniffles
"Stay here Guilmon, I'm going to see if Jeri is okay"
"Okay Takato " Guilmon said before he started crying again
Takato ran done the stone steps over to where Jeri was sitting
"Jeri are you okay? Sorry I left you here"
Takato held his hand out to Jeri, who took it and helped herself up.
"Its okay Takato "Jeri wiped her hands on her dress
"Let me walk you home Jeri"
"No its okay, go find Guilmon" Jeri said between sniffles
"I insist"
"Fine"
Jeri and Takato started walking down the stone walkway in the park.

After about ten minutes, Jeri broke the silence
"You know why I didn't get Leomon ?. its because I'm not special enough "
Takato stopped and went in front of Jeri and took both of her hands in his, He was trying to look in her eyes but she was looking down at the ground.
"Jeri you are special, its just you've got to realize it yourself and Leomon will come back and you'll be his tamer"
"I'm not special." Jeri felt a tear fall out of the corner of her eye.
"You're special to me"
Jeri looked up at him. "Do you mean that?"
"Of course I mean it. Now let's get you home its getting dark"
"Okay" Jeri sighed

Neither of them said anything till they got to Jeri's
They were standing on Jeri's front porch.
"Are you going to remember what I said?" Takato asked
"Every word" Jeri laughed
"Hey Jeri ?"
"Yeah Takato ?"
Unexpectedly, Takato leaned in and kissed Jeri. A few seconds later they broke apart the kiss. Takato gently put a loose strand of Jeri's hair behind her ear.
"Remember, You're special" He whispered
After that he got up and walked away. Jeri just sat there for a minute watching him leave and wondering why he kissed her.
If Takato thinks I'm special, then I must be. Jeri thought to herself.
