Lovve Me Tender

The moment you raised your hand, wand glowing with vicious, sparking, crackling energy, you knew she was going to die. It was like someone else had taken over and now you were along for the ride. You swear you heard yourself scream as the bolt of pure, fiery energy blasted straight through her abdomen. You sat numb as the driver of your body destroyed the matriorb, and Kanaya along with it. Your cape brushed the thoroughly shocked Karkat as you stalked to the transportalizer.

As soon as you stepped into your quarters, you dropped to your knees. What in Gog's name had possessed you to kill the only creature you loved, and probably would ever love again? What had made you kill the girl who had shown you that she wanted nothing but what was best for you?

The rich, purple hue of your proud bloodline now streamed down your face in an endless cascade of tears. You, Eridan Ampora, were now thoroughly alone in this world.

Once you got off your train off self-pity, you uncurled yourself from the fetal position you had tucked yourself into. You picked up your sorry self and walked towards the transportalizer. You had to say goodbye.

You appeared in the main room. It was devoid of all life. The only sound that could be heard was the low thrum of the computers that surrounded you, faintly glowing with light. You looked towards the horn pile. There she lay, the beautiful empress to be, looking only like she had fallen into sweet, innocent dreams. The only thing that led you to believe she wasn't was the gaping hole in her chest, covered in rich tyhrrenian magenta. You noticed her eyes were closed now. You also noticed that Sollux and Kanaya were gone. You hadn't killed Sollux, so either him or Karkat must have dragged Kanaya's body somewhere else, and judging by the still wet drip marks of Jade blood that were smattered in a trail from where she had lay to the transportalizer, it wasn't long ago either. How odd. One of them must have carried Kanaya's corpse out of there, not dragged it out like you had originally thought.

You turned back to the silent princes. 'Fef, why did you have to leavve me?' You asked, through the tears that, once again, streamed down your face. You slowly walked over to her cold body, and gently picked her up and cradled her in your lap, rocking her back and forth. You stroked her wild snarl of curls, once so shiny and vibrant with life, that now only looked dull under the harsh fluorescent lights.

You wish you could have said goodbye, one last time. You wish this was all some joke, and she would wake any second and laugh her bubbly, beautiful laugh, smiling and giggling at your pleasantly shocked expression. But no, that would not happen now. You had to face the reality of the situation. Feferi was dead, and she was never coming back.

Somewhere in the distance you heard a chainsaw roar into life.
