Drew just didn't understand girls…or at least not May.

One minute, he was listening to her talk excitedly about the new combinations she'd been practicing, the next she was yelling something about "Magical Ponytas" and "poop". Yeah, he didn't get it either.

Okay, maybe he hadn't been exactly keeping eye contact with her and might've started daydreaming…but it wasn't his fault. How would he explain it? May shines as brightly as the sun when she's excited about something, so Drew couldn't look at her directly.

Did he really just compare May to the sun?! What was his problem?

Why'd he ask when he already knew what his problem is?

This wasn't supposed to happen. He was supposed to feel purely platonic feelings for his rival, maybe admiration at the most. He wasn't supposed to have feelings like….well, "like".

What would his parents do if they saw him like this? Ugh! That thought didn't help. His mom would probably say something along the lines of "Drew, give me grandbabies. I want to be a grandma before my time passes". First of all, his mother looks nowhere near being a grandma. Two, he's determined to become the top coordinator. He's got contests to worry about. Thirdly, can't she just go buy one at the PokeMart or get a Swanna to give her one? Isn't that how babies are delivered into this world? Hey. He wouldn't know since the whole "he's an only child" thing going on.

Any who, let's get back to the real issue. He'd have to make a plan. How would be get rid of the beautiflies (Really? Now even her Pokemon were interrupting his metaphors?) in his stomach? Duh, the answer was obvious. He'd avoid May like a swarm of Beedrill. That way, over time the feelings would go away, and he could have a decent conversation with her a long time from now. Yep, that was definitely the best thing to do.

Proud of himself, he continued walking down the path…until he saw the person that had been occupying his thoughts more and more each day (There went his genius plan) giggling with a guy….that looked suspiciously like him!

Anger and something that felt like jealousy coursed through his veins. He quickened his pace until he stood right in front of the wannabe.

"Drew?!" May said, but Drew didn't hear her. His focus was on the guy that had May giggling. Before the thought crossed into the rational part of his brain, he threw back his arm…and missed as the wannabe moved out of the way. The wannabe darted into the woods at a speed that even Drew knew wasn't possible for a normal human. What just happened?

"Drew, what are you doing? I really wanted to catch that Ditto," May said.

"What? That was a Ditto?" Drew blurted out.

"Yeah. W-?"

May didn't get to finish as Drew rushed away from her at a frantic pace with blood rushing to his face.

What could he have been thinking? He was just about to physically hurt a wild Pokemon all due to his jealousy?! Not only was his pride hurt by that fact, he'd also made a complete and utter fool of himself in front of HER. What type of person must she think I am?

Drew continued running, hoping to run what had just happened out of his mind. Out of sight, out of mind.

Well, at least there was a bright side to this.

His mom wouldn't be getting those grandbabies anytime soon.
