"Wow, that was awesome"

"That was unbelievable Mitchie!"

Mitchie Torres grinned from ear to ear. She had done an awesome job and she knew it. She was no longer the kitchen duty girl or the girl who hid. She was Mitchie Torres.

Mitchie bid her new friends' good bye and exited the hall where the Final Jam had taken place.

"Leaving already are you?"

Mitchie turned around to see Shane Gray leaning against a wall his hands in his pockets. Mitchie giggled.

"I was planning to," she said shyly.

Shane looked around to see if anyone was watching them. He caught a few girls' eyeing him. He rolled his eyes. "Follow me," he said and grabbed her hand.

Together they walked, slightly ran to the dock by the lake where Mitchie first heard Shane playing his guitar.

They slowly came to a stop.

"Why are we here?" Mitchie said half laughing as they sat down on the dock letting their legs wade in the water. Above the moon shone brightly across the night sky and the stars twinkled. A soft breeze rustled and Mitchie shivered.

Shane observed this and took of his leather jacket and wrapped it around her.

"Thanks," she said with a smile, her eyes twinkling just like the stars above.

Shane smiled. He couldn't help it. "You were great tonight."

Mitchie giggled once again and blushed. I have to stop doing that. "Thanks," she said gazing at him. "You weren't so bad yourself." She teased. There that's better. I can actually make a conversation without looking like a total dork.

"Ouch," Shane said playfully, "If I wasn't a jerk that would have hurt. But then again I'm Shane Grey."

"Jerk."

"We're on a roll tonight aren't we," he teased her. She' so beautiful, the way the moon hits her face.

"Yes we are." She said and swatted his arm. They sat there for a while in silence, taking in the beauty of the place they both had lost living in their own world.

"Will you be here next year?" Shane asked breaking the silence.

"Well I hope so. I sure am going to miss this place and all the happiness it's brought me." Mitchie said shyly turning her gaze to the moonlit water.

Joe cupped her chin in his hands. From behind a bush he pulled out his guitar and began to play it and sing. You're the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I'm, I need to find you, I gotta find you He sang and as he strum the last few chords he added, " I've found you".

Mitchie didn't know what to say. "That was beautiful," she finally sputtered out. She felt her face turn hot and her heart beat faster.

"No you're beautiful," he said. Shane removed the guitar from around him and leaned in to kiss her. Their faces were so close now that he could count the eyelashes on her eyes. Her intense dark brown eyes that he came to love so much.

It just happened. Neither of them knew how. Before they knew it they had shared a soft sweet kiss. Something they hoped they would remember forever.

When they broke apart they sat there on the dock for a while under the moonlit sky holding hands and basking in all the events of that night.
