hey everyone so this is my first fanfic, tips would be lovely!

Everyone and everything for that matter is so stressed and crazed due to the war. Which is most likely the best reason that one red-head in particular was sitting on the edge of the astronomy tower. Lily Evans is generally not one to hide out when things get bad, but even she can't bring herself to leave this spot.

The young witch then let a sigh escape her lips with the peace that she has desperately been aching for finally wash over her. Everything this year has been so hectic and chaotic, with the impending Voldemort doom, or NEWTS coming up this years, but mostly Lily's boyfriend troubles.

Yes, I Lily Evans finally relented and agreed to go on a date with the annoying and arrogant person that is James Potter. I always believed that James was a bloody prat and was only in it for the chase. But this year all of that suddenly changed, with him being named head boy. With his newfound responsibility he grew up, into an incredible guy who was kind, sensitive, and stopped hexing people whenever he could because he can. Another sigh slipped past her lips and into the cold night air.

Now we are together and pretty much inseparable, well except now while she is currently hiding and looking out at the breathtaking view. She let out an involuntary shiver when a pair of comforting and familiar arms wrapped around her waist. She leaned back into his warm embrace and sighed again but this time it was her sighing in contentment. With his head resting on the top of hers, he asked;

"Hey baby, why are you hiding up here?

"It's not that I'm hiding James I just.. Need a bit of a distraction"

Lily not finding the right words and not trusting herself to say what she was really feeling just turned around to look up into his warm hazel eyes. Lifting herself up on her tiptoes she gently placed her lips on his, he was confused at first but then started to kiss her back.

Tilting his head to the side and deepening the kiss, while one of her hands was running up and down his back and the other was attached to his soft hair. James then lifted her up so that he wouldn't have to bend down as far while his tongue was begging for entry, for which she happily granted. She felt her back be pressed up against the cool wall, so she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist. Her one hand that wasn't lost in his hair was starting to slip off his shirt, helping her along James pulled back and lifted the shirt of his incredibly toned body. Neither wanting to stop but also not wanting to let go, just stared deep into each other's eyes not daring break the beautiful silence. The only noise around them is their heavy breaths as he rested his head on his beautiful girlfriend's forehead.

"Well Evans couldn't resist eh?"

Always trying to make light of serious situations, he managed to earn a small chuckle and a playful smack across his chest. Yet she was smiling and that was always the goal. With a smile still in place she whispered, "James… I love you.."

With those simple three words James face lit up like a Christmas tree. "Bloody hell Lily, you always find more ways to amaze me every day. Also if it isn't obvious already I love more than anything in the entire world."

Lily returned his grin with equal vigor and leaned in the capture the mouth of the man she loved and will love for the rest of her life. With a smirk Lily pulls back and whispers in his ear

"I can tell you really love me now because you don't normally keep your wand in your pocket James."
