Lita couldn't remember who had asked who, but still she found herself seated across from Chris Jericho at a table for two at an outdoor café. They hadn't had much contact with each other since they'd met in Mexico, but now, here they were- meeting as fellow employees of the WWF.
So close and yet, so far, the table of course separating them; two cups of untouched coffee between them.
Chewing nervously on her lower lip, she'd reached up a hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear; Chris subtly observing her… hazel eyes eventually catching blue. They hadn't said a word to each other since they'd arrived separately but maybe … they didn't need to speak.
Instead, she smiled and he grinned, the diva setting a hand on the table to bridge the gap between them; the blond wrestler settling a hand over hers without hesitation.
Conversation, they'd both decided in that moment; could always come later.
