The Secret Circle was unfortunately cancelled by The CW Network due to their ratings and the inability to fuel the production costs of the show. Many fans out there would like to see this show continue on with its 2nd season despite having been cancelled over 3 years ago. While it seems like a long shot, it's certainly NOT impossible. Shows like Full House and The X Files ended over 10 years ago and has now seen revivals with original cast now adding Gilmore Girls to the mix. Let us be hopeful for something incredible.
I have a belief that Netflix, FX, Syfy, Chiller, Crackle or Freeform will be able to carry this show under its wing and be able to capture the hearts of fans that have avidly followed Charmed, The Witches of East End and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Netflix have been able to remaster Daredevil in a way that was cinematically stunning and appropriate. If anyone can bring out this show's true potential, Netflix certainly can.
Andrew Miller, co- creator, showrunner and executive producer sat down to do an interview in March and stated that one of the production company who owns the rights to the book and the show expressed their interest in a somewhat low budget of the show and he was all for it.
The first season was dramatically left with such an incredible cliffhanger – something that Netflix can surely successfully play with.
Strategy to get it on Netflix: In the days leading to 5th anniversary of the series premiere September 15th, we the fans will lead a twittion on twitter where we tweet "BringBackTheSecretCircleNetflix" or "ConjureTheSecretCircle. We don't stop there, we tweet the cast, Warner Bros Studio, Elloy Entertainment and last but not least showrunner Andrew Miller.
All most all of the cast are available to return to the show except Phoebe Tonkin, who if agrees to the revival her appearances might be limited.
OPERATION FX: If God forbid Netflix stupidly defies not picking up the show, our next bet can be FX. FX is most known for their strong contents focusing on more adult theme programs and their pride with interactivity with their viewers. Think about TSC on FX airing on the same night as AHS? That would be pure gold for the network bringing 18-49 demographic to them.
Freeform: Freeform formerly known back then as ABC Family, opted not to renew the show citing that they had full roster of shows by that time. Seeing as the network's no.1 show, Pretty Little Liars is ending in 2017, the network will be grappling to find its network big hit. How about capitalizing on already hit TV show? The Secret Circle can fit right at home at FreeForm since it's trying to be more adult and the show can bring in ratings for them and can also be a good companion for their fantasy romance show "ShadowHunters"
Syfy: If the former 3 doesn't work why not Syfy? In the eyes of a few Syfy is seen as the best home for the show seeing that TSC is a supernatural drama show and that it can fit with the network's programs.
Chiller: Let's say Syfy is interested but there are also in neck of content on the network, why not pitch TSC to their sister network Chiller? The channel showed reruns of TSC before, how about brand new episodes? That would be brilliant. They are already trying to get into the scripted television business why not capitalize on TSC''s success?
In conclusion, we fans need to step up to see our beloved show back. We can't come in strong for the first few weeks and then bow out later. No. This should be an ongoing thing UNTIL we get it back. We need to act like pests to them until get them to see us. So, for the rest of the month of September tweet #BringBackTheSecretCircleNetflix or #ConjureTheSecretCircle to Netflx, the cast and Andrew Miller. Share this with your friends, tell 'em to get in line and tweet as if their lives depend on it. Tweet every. Single. Day. We need to enter into town of Chance Harbor again.
