Gravitation
Oneshot
Silent
Notes: This is my first finished Gravitation fic. This was originally going to be a Yugioh oneshot, but I'm getting tired of that fandom. 3 So I did a lot of tweaking, and rewriting and here you go.
Summary: Mika wishes Yuki could just let his past go…(You think you know, but you don't. xP) short oneshot
The alarm went off, but Yuki didn't want to get up. A push from his lover that knocked him halfway off the bed convinced him though.
"Alright, alright. I'm up." Yuki grumbled, batting the air with his hand in a dismissing gesture, too tired to be angry. He rubbed his eyes as he stood, making his way to the bathroom.
The shower he took was cold, partly to help wake himself up, partly because the water heater wasn't working to full capacity. It had been a late night last night. He had almost finished the latest novel, but had been interrupted by the bedroom door slamming, announcing his lover's frustration with him.
Deciding the brat had been unusually quiet and good that evening, he gave up and went to bed. Now he had to finish this morning if he was to stay on schedule.
Making his way into the kitchen area, he was grateful to see the coffeepot had been turned on and warmed up so all he had to do was fill it with water. The apartment felt empty, apparently he had already left for work. Yuki knew better than to go and check. That emptiness hurt.
So, Yuki did what he does best. He went to work and totally ignored everything else.
There was silence all day, except for the occasional beep of the answering machine announcing a saved message. At four in the evening, like clockwork, the front door slammed and Yuki heard footsteps run passed his office for the kitchen. He grins softly to himself, since he recognizes this as his cue to quit for the day.
He was finished anyway.
He stands and stretches, making his way into the living room, hitting the button on the machine, more to stop its beeping than interest in the message. He sits on the edge of the couch, listening to the noises coming from the kitchen while Hiro's cheerful voice rings from the little machine.
"Hey, Shu, we got the booking at that place that we were talking about! Bad Luck is playing on an actual stage! Hey, bring Yuki, if you can get the old stiff away from his laptop. Some rock music will do him good! Ha, ha. Call me later."
Yuki sighed. That was tonight. Maybe he would go.

Yuki was not very impressed. He leaned against the cold brick wall, trying his best to ignore everyone around him. Hiro was fairly talented, he noticed, but he seemed distracted. The singer was no good. It was actually pretty bad.
Yuki stayed for two songs before he decided he'd had enough. As he was pushing his way out the door, he ran into one of the last people on the planet he wanted to see.
"Yuki!"
It was Mika, his sister. Yuki simply ducked his head and nearly ran. "Yuki!" A hand grabbed his elbow, forcing him to stop.
She looked concerned. Wonderful, this was going to take awhile. "How are you lately?"
Yuki shrugged and shook out a cigarette. Lowering his head, he used his hand to shield the flame from the lighter as he touched it to the end. He missed Mika's momentary look of embarrassment.
"You should move out of that apartment, too many memories of....He's gone, Yuki. You need to put the past behind you." She trailed off, and Yuki looked up. His honey colored eyes shone dangerously.
"Shuichi may have died, Mika." Yuki took a long drag, blowing the smoke out before continuing. "But who says he's gone?"
Paladin: Get it?
