Annabeth didn't know why she was so nervous about telling Percy. They had gotten married over a year ago, so it wouldn't be a big deal right? She sighed and flopped down on the couch. "What if Percy didn't want to…" she cut off the thought as soon as it started. Percy wouldn't care. He was always great with the younger kids at camp. Why would this be any different? She heard the door open and Percy walking over to the fridge to get something to eat just like he did everyday after getting back from camp. He taught there now, training the other demigods just like he had once been trained. "Annabeth?" He called out for her.
She took a deep breath and replied, "In here."
"You were missed today at camp," he said walking into the room and leaning against the wall. Usually She would drop by around noon for lunch and to help give pointers to some of Percy's students.
"Yeah, I meant to, I was just a bit distracted."
"Why?" Percy's brow furrowed and he stood up straight. "Is there something wrong?"
It was now or never, Annabeth thought. Taking another breath she started, "Percy, well umm, I ah, went to the doctor today. Well and," She couldn't seem to find the words. Her hand dropped to her stomach and she bit her lip, looking up at Percy.
It took Percy only a few seconds to realize what she was trying to say. "Wait, you-you're pregnant?" Percy stammered out wide-eyed. Annabeth just nodded, unsure of how to take his initial reaction. It was then that Percy rushed across the room and Picked up his wife and spun them around in a circle before pressing his lips to hers.
"Wait, so you're okay with this?" Annabeth asked him after he finally put her down.
"Okay with it? I'm ecstatic! We're going to be parents." He laughed before getting down onto his knees so he was level with her stomach. "You hear that little guy? We can't wait to meet you," he placed a soft kiss above her navel and stood back up to face a smiling Annabeth.
"You know the baby won't develop ears until like sixteen weeks, right?"
"Um, no. My mothers not the goddess of wisdom, remember?"
"Seaweed brain," she said laughing and shaking her head.
"I love you too wise girl," Percy replied pulling his beautiful wife into his arms and whispering, "You're going to be a great mother."
