N/A: Happy birthday Miku-sama! I'm so grateful to have you in my life and I don't know what I'd do without you!
...
"MIKU!"
"MIKU-CHAN!"
She could hear them. They were incredibly loud, even louder than usual, screaming in a frenzy, chanting her name at the top of their lungs.
"MIKU-SAMA!"
"MIKU!"
She could imagine them. They were squashed together in a heated crowd, sporting clothing with either her face or image colour, or both, waving green glow sticks that illuminated the vast room like stars in the dark sky she knew outside.
"MIKU!"
The stage was lit and ready for her to ascend to, glittering softly with sparkling rainbow lights that swept past the hyped audience and along the stage where the band members played and succeeded in exciting the crowd even more.
"1...2...3...4...5"
This was always the part she feared. She couldn't help it. She knew she was loved and adored by the people waiting for her, but there was that small piece of dread inside her that built up the closer the stage came.
"6...7...8...9...10"
She had practiced many ways of calming her nerves- breathing in and out in a slow pattern, stretching, meditating- and they were effective for a little while. All until she had to actually breach the stage.
"11...12...13...14...15..."
There was that little fear that grew and grew at the possibilities that could take place out there; a riot from the audience, a band member playing the wrong tune, a stage light collapsing under its weight, herself collapsing for any reason next to exhaustion or nerves.
"16...17...18...19...20..."
Yes, the nerves were forever there and they threatened to swallow her whole sometimes; make her voice shake and her body tremble and her mind forget both lyrics and practiced moves.
"21...22...23...24...25..."
But then there was singing. She loved to sing; lived for it. Every song she created was a gift and she wanted to share it with the world she felt she truly belonged in.
"26...27...28...29...30..."
It was then in that moment that she blinked and realised. That was it.
"31...32...33..."
All fear slowly melted away as a warm feeling entered her system. The cheers outside got louder still, and she felt a small smile cross her lips.
"34...35...36..."
It was for them. It was always for them. She was the reason why she sang her heart out every day and managed to conquer her nerves at every performance. They fuelled her, pushed her forwards and helped her strive to make the world better. There was no need to be afraid when she knew she had people she could rely on. She could share her world to these people, and they would share theirs back with a smile on their faces.
"37...38..."
Her eyes lit up and she rolled her shoulders backwards, body turning towards the curtain. Show time.
"39..."
She stepped forward into the light and warmth of her adoring public that chanted and screamed her name even louder at her appearance. Her smile widened.
