She stood outside the large Tosho Library, doe brown eyes hesitating as they looked around. Her mousey grey-brown hair struggled to be free from the dark grey cap that hugged the girl's head. The wind pulled teasingly on the locks that remained outside of the hat, though they were short; as her bangs reached only to her chin. The rest of her hair remained short, and hidden from sight from within the cap. But still, the wind pulled upon the short hair, as though threatening to remove the item that trapped it.
Curious, her inquisitive eyes peered around the area from underneath the shorter portion of bangs that bridged the space from either side of her head. Her fair skin gave off a glowing appearance in the morning's silvery sunlight. Her face as a whole projected the innocence of a child of fourteen years, though in actuality, she was closer to twenty. A bitter wind caused her to shut her eyes for a moment due to the cold as she continued to look around.
The day was windy but the sun still shone brightly, casting flickering patterns across the heavy forest green cloak wrapped around her slender figure. Worn black walking boots could be seen from underneath the cloak, and a large, brown knapsack hung from the girl's small shoulders. The knapsack hung low on her back, as though it held something of a fair bit of weight.
In one pale, slender hand was grasped what appeared to be a tall staff ending in three forked, yet gracefully curved blades. The trident gave off a slightly eerie blue glow, eminating from a sapphire like stone embedded in the staff just before the fork in the top. The trident was one of grace and strength, forged with a steady hand. It stood almost five inches from the maiden's capped head, and on the righthand side of her.
At her side was a plain-looking solid grey cat, possibly of two years' age. Green eyes looked around curiously as its tail swished from side to side; the feline sat down beside his mistress, meowing as if to ask why they had stopped, or maybe, just for affection.
Syralei looked around the vast streets of Hisen, though she wasn't sure where to go; it looked as though she'd gotten herself lost yet again. Here she was, supposed to be headed to the School of Mages, and of course, she'd been distracted by the thought of many books within her reach. Now she'd gotten turned about again, and hadn't a clue which direction to take. A confused expression overtook her fair face as the cat proceeded to nuzzle its body against her legs. She proceeded to look around in hopes of finding someone of whom to ask directions.
