Electrons jumping
Lightning streaks through the night sky
Gone in a moment.

Electrons are jumping
The night air is pumping
With awesome heat and light.
Sheltering mortals shiver with fright
But it's gone in a flash, heralding thunder
And when the clouds have all gone, those mortals wonder
At the power and miracle of the storm.
