The night was a starry pelt across the sky, and two moons hung amongst the stars, their light shining below on the high mountain tops. The nightwing passed below it, silent as it soared through the sky, his black scales making him almost invisible, except for the occasional glimmer of moonlight against them.
Finally after a long flight, he landed on a rocky ledge jutting out from a small village, most of the candles had been put out, leaving the fireflies to light his way through the soft sandy path, which he made his way carefully on. A scroll was clasped in the dragon's talons, and the red ribbon wrapped around it flowed quietly in the weak breeze.
After he had made his way to a dark cavern placed in the side of the mountain, he stopped, setting his scroll down so that he could light a candle, which he did with a small fume of fire. Placing the candle next to his scroll, he opened the long parchment, setting out his unusually colored ink to dip the feathery quill in. After he had written a short sentence, a figure appeared in his talons, in which he dropped the candle into by a hole at the top. Stepping by the side of the entrance as not to be seen, he hid the scroll in a ledge, before turning around to throw a cloth over the lantern. Taking a deep breath, he stepped through the curtain of jewels hanging over the doorway.
A gasp of surprise sounded from within the cave, and the dragon's eyes glittered with delight as another dragon, with silvery scales, stepped into the room.
"DarkStalker!" she breathed happily, taking the small lantern into her own talons. DarkStalker gave a flashy smile and brought a necklace laced with jewels and diamonds over her head, and resting it on her neck.
"I promised you that we would get to our future, and it will happen, one step at a time." He smiled again as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I mean of course, how could you resist someone as handsome as me?"
