"Wait!"
Her single-word cry was barely heard through the howling wind and pouring rain. Despite her current situation, a smile brightened her dreary features as Toshiro spun around.
"Namiko!" He shouted in return, a small smile reflecting her own. "I thought you were already gone!" A large clap of thunder answered him before Namiko had the chance. Lighting continued to dance across the dark, cloud-filled sky with the rain falling harder than ever.
"I could not leave without seeing you." Namiko stated more quietly, with less confidence. The closer Toshiro drew near, the more unsure she felt again. 'This is why I came, is it not?' She asked herself, silently pleading to the gods that she would not forget what to say.
Toshiro stopped merely inches from her. The rain had long since plastered his usually spiked, silver hair to his head. "T-to say goodbye, of course." Namiko blurted out quickly referring to her previous statement. Toshiro stared down to her, a small grin of amusement curving the corners of his mouth. Without hesitation, he reached out to Namiko, drawing her small form into his embrace. Her only response for several long moments was to blink in surprise. Once Namiko remembered it was indeed herself who was in control of her arms, she wrapped them snuggly around Toshiro's strong form, returning the embrace; her lost smile suddenly found.
