Prologue
It was a half hour past midnight in a small village near London , but even if it was late for people to be awake , not everybody was ready to sleep…
In a small house covered in ivy , a little girl was begging her dad:
"Please daddy tell me a story and I promise I 'll sleep this time for good" she said while she gave him her most angelic smile.
"Okay , okay , Sammy , but just this time , one story and off to bed with you..Deal ?"
"Deal."said the little girl laughting.
"Okay ,tonight's story is going to be special, because it is a true story, it all started a long time ago , in a land full of magic and mystery , a queen gave birth to little child , it was the light of her eyes , the most precious thing she ever had in her whole entire life , but one day, she went into the forest and before she did she said with a weak smile to her husband to protect the baby whatever will happen .The king never knew why would his queen told him those words , but at the end of the day , he started worring , because his beloved wife didn't return , so he sent his guards to search for her in the forest , but there was no trace o her . Only after an entire week , he gave up his hopes of ever seeing her . And so two years passed since the queen vanished in the forest , the king was raising his little daughter like no one else : she was sleeping in a crib made of gold, her dresses were sewed with silver wires and her toys were made of fine crystal , but the king was growing old and the wars started , so he had to go to battle his younger brother , a king known for his cruelty . When the kingdom fell in his brother's hands , a maid took the little girl and runned in the forest , 'cause you see ,as long as the princess was alive the people will always believe in a better future, one without the evil king . The maid took the baby into the heart of the forest and there it was: the Legendary Gate . She knocked at the door and left the baby in front of it. The door opened and a hand took the baby and closed the door, but as soon as the door was closed it disappeared from the sight .Since then the princess grew into another kingdom , just waiting for the door to open."
"Daddy , but what's the ending?"
"I don't know …It didn't say" said her father closing the book.."But I am pretty sure you will find it, my little princess .Now sleep tight , sweetie."
"Okay daddy " said the girl before she fell into a dreamless sleep.
"Someday you will be great I promise you" said her dad kissing his little princess on the forehead ."I know you will "and he closed the door to her room .
