A.N. I don't know why I wrote this. It could be due to a sudden rush of inspiration, or maybe it's just because I've had some emotions bottled up inside me that I want to get out. Whatever the reason, this is just a short, simple one-shot I've written. Take it how you want it.
…
When did her love for him begin, and when did his love for her stop? Where did their hearts connect, and where are their hearts apart? What depths of love did surround them; engulfing them in an ocean of affection and emotion which knew no bounds. From the moment he had arrived those years ago, they knew they were to be together forever.
Yet as the two sat there, soaked by the silver moonlight of a full moon, they knew it was never to be. As their shimmering eyes met, one pair aqua blue, representing their united spirit, and the other pair amber brown, representing their ageless love surpassing time, they could do all but break their gaze.
They longed for each other; to be married, to start a family, to live their lives together as one. But they knew their love was forbidden. Forbidden by humans, and scorned by time. Had time approved, all else would've followed, but time had not. What was age, anyway, but a measurement? Could not love overcome age, no matter how great the chasm of time which separated the two beings?
But no, it could not—and would not—be so, for he was to be married to her older sister the very next morning. As they embraced each other in a tight hug, they knew it would be the last time they were truly together. Tears flowed down the girl's young face; heavy sobs, shaking her to the core, and the man himself felt his heart ache within, for alas, he did not love her older sister, yet it was the only way they could still see each other with causing suspicion.
Neither one wanted the moment to end, but as they already knew, time was not on their side. Their clutch, which they had sworn would never loosen, slowly fell apart, and the two finally stood from upon the wooden dock. His cheek stained by her tears, and her ear filled with his cries, the two slowly split away from the other, both hearts heavy with regret. For they were like East and West; together filling the sky with their love, but apart tearing the heavens asunder.
…
There you go; I hope you liked it. This was really just a random one-shot I wrote, and you can make it out to be whatever you want. I realize there isn't much to review, but go ahead and tell me what you think it applies to, if you want, since there is a lot this story can apply to.
