STUCK IN MUCK

Dean pressed his foot against the accelerator, gently at first then with increasing effort. "C'mon, baby, please!" The Impala shuddered and shimmied, rear end swaying to-and-fro in an unseemly display of automotive twerking. But it was no use, she just couldn't gain any traction in the thick, oozing mud in which she was stuck.
Cursing his rotten luck and the now-long-gone vehicle he'd swerved to avoid, Dean exited the car, glaring at the offending brown-black muck. He patted the Impala's flank. "Gonna leave me hangin', huh?" He pulled out his phone. "S'okay. Sammy will ride to our rescue. I hope."
