History's Guardians
You never hear them enter
You never hear them leave
They're always in the center
Of every up and heave
Their writing in their journals
Recording for their books
Every single detail
Sunk on line and hook
They know all that has happened
They know what is to come
Silent shadows in the background
Seeing who has won
Keepers of our secrets
Walking pen and ink
Beings shroud in darkness
Who know all those that think
From parchment into paper
Scrolls now into books
They hold them all in silence
Hidden in their nooks
Sentinels at the gate
Guardians in the sand
Keepers of the canyon door
With eyes across the land
Their silent as a shadow
You never know they're there
So if the Bookmen come your way
Be cautious and beware
Hello! You have reached the bottom of the page (no duh)! Sooooo, this... I'm not sure how this one happened... we were driving to town when I got a poetry flash and had to start writing. For those of you who got a bit confused, so was I. most of this is pretty self explanatory but for the 'keepers at the canyon door' I have no idea about that. Sounded cool. We don't really know much about the Bookmen or Bookman so just about anything goes I guess.
The idea behind people being afraid of the Bookman is because this is placed a bit after he left the Noah's side.
Please review!
