The first time I noticed was when I woke to crying
"Moony?" A pause
"Yeah?"
"You okay?"
"I'm fine" I heard you roll over.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just a dream."
"Oh"
"Night Padfoot." You stopped moving.
"Night Moony." But I waited until your breathing slowed before I fell asleep.
The second time I noticed was when I caught you staring at me over your book during potions. I met your eyes and you blushed and looked down quickly. I grinned at you,
"Just can't keep your eyes off me huh Remus?" I teased
"What? . . . No . . . Um . . . Sorry, daydreaming." You stuttered.
"Don't worry. I know I'm gorgeous." I winked at you but you bit your lip and looked away.
The third time I noticed was when I played that stupid prank on Snape.
"I'm sorry. So sorry Remus." I'd told you.
"If James hadn't been there . . . Sirius I'd never forgive myself."
"He was there."
"Barely. I could have got him."
"But you didn't."
"Sometimes I hate myself Sirius."
"Don't. Hate me instead. You should. I'm an idiot." Then you'd finally looked at me, your amber eyes burning molten gold.
"I could never hate you Sirius." This time I blushed and looked away.
The fourth time I noticed it was when James finally won over Lily.
"I'm happy for them." You'd said, smiling as if they were your children.
"We all are."
"After all that time . . . And finally he did it."
"I always thought he should have given up long ago."
"You should never give up on love." I'd looked up to see a tender expression on your face. I tried to return it but you saw me looking before I mastered it and left abruptly to finish homework.
The last time I noticed, I noticed and finally understood. Lily cornered me in the common room and demanded I do something. Guess she noticed too.
"Why does it have to be me?" I'd complained to her "Why not him?"
"No, you." She pushed me in the direction of the dormitory and blocked her ears to my protests.
And I found you curled up on your bed reading, just as Lily said you'd be. James was in on it. Suppose prongs noticed it too.
"Hey Remus" I approached you, blushing furiously.
"Sirius!" You shut the book.
"So . . . Um . . ." I held out my hands unsure how to say it. You peered at me curiously,
"Are you alright?" I shrugged, then stepped forward a quickly pressed my lips to yours. They were just like you, soft, sweet, gentle. I jumped back and looked at you hesitantly. A smile suddenly lit up your face.
"I noticed too Sirius." You said, taking my hand. You searched my face and I returned your warm smile. You leaned in. And this time I didn't pull away.
