They told me I was a hero,

Chosen by the Gods,

To save the land of Hyrule,

To prevail against all odds.

A friend gave me a gift

She was the last one I could see,

As I crossed that wooden bridge,

On towards my destiny.

And then through time I sailed,

Without a ship or mast,

To right what had been wronged,

To light the shadow He'd cast.

I had the Triforce of Courage,

A gift from the Goddesses themselves,

A fairy to guide my path,

When the darkness overwhelmed.

I fought through temples and dungeons,

Striving against cold and fire,

I took this burden upon myself,

Gaining the dark lord's ire.

But it was no gift, I saw,

This power previously concealed,

By destiny I would save them,

By destiny, He would yield.

But the price to use this power,

The price to save my land,

Was greater than I could have seen,

Veiled by the symbol on my hand.

My friends, now gone and dead,

Reduced to ashes and bone,

The "oh so courageous" hero,

On this journey, now, alone.

They do not realize what I now know,

The cycle, never to end,

The battle for good and evil,

I silently now lament.

Despite this all, I will fight,

For it is as I am destined,

Despite my longing sorrow,

It is my curse, my legend.

So, my name was previously CrymsonOnyx.

And also, I think this is the longest poem I've ever written.
