At the end of the year you're another year older

And I certainly hope that you'll have many more

There's a party, and a cake,

And a whole bunch of presents we're giving,

And we're all wishing you well,

What is it for?

One more year you've been living.

At the end of the year make a wish on the candles

Don't tell us what it is or it never comes true

Blow them out, all in one breath,

And then slice it all up with a knife

And we'll gobble it down in one bite,

Hope we don't choke.

At the end of the year watch you open your presents

A dolly from Mom and a train set from Dad

Say your thank-yous, say goodbye,

And it looks like the party is ending,
