Victoria's Revenge
"Alice do we have to go? I really don't want to go to prom this year! All that's going to happen is I'm going to go in Edward's car and leave in an ambulance. I really don't want to-" Bella was cut off.
"Quit complaining Bella! You are going to prom and you have to look fabulous!" Alice snapped.
"But-"
"No buts! Now come on! We're going to find the perfect dress for you. Let's go!" And with that, Alice dragged Bella into the dress shop.
They started going through the racks of dresses, or rather Alice started going through the racks; Bella was standing behind her pouting the whole time. After about 15 minutes, Alice stopped and motioned to Bella to come over. She was holding something. Bella walked towards her and saw what she had in her hands. Alice was holding up a strapless red floor-length dress that was made of satin and flowed out from the waist.
"Can I try that on pppllleeeaaassseee!? I love it!" begged Bella.
"Ya that's why I picked it out silly!" answered Alice. "Okay what do you think of this one… for me?" She was holding up a knee-length black bubble dress with a gold bow in the front.
"It's gorgeous. Let's try on what we have!" said Bella with enthusiasm in her voice for the first time that day. "Alice! Come on! We can look at shoes later! We don't even know what dress we're going to buy!"
"Yes we do." answered Alice with a smirk.
"No we- oh you cheater! I still want to try the dresses on though… you only get to go to senior prom once right?"
"Ya I guess… Fine we'll try them on," said Alice with a huff.
"They walked into the dressing room area where a woman took first Bella's dresses and next Alice's dresses. When she reached out to take Alice's dresses from her, she gasped in pure awe at how beautiful she was. Alice gave a small smile and followed the lady to her dressing room.
"Bella are you ready to show me?" called Alice as she came out of the dressing room.
"Ya. Ta-da! Do you like it?" Bella swept out of the dressing room wearing the red dress she had instantly loved when Alice had showed it to her earlier.. She twirled and faced Alice with a smile on her face. "I love it so much!"
"It looks stunning on you. I think you should get it. What do you think of mine?" Alice was wearing a strapless olive green dress that came down an inch above her pale knees.
"I like the style, but the color isn't my favorite… you kinda look like an olive! Can I see the black one on you? I really liked it when you showed it to me." said Bella.
"Yeah this isn't the one I end up picking so I'll try on the black one." agreed Alice.
She went back into the dressing room and within two seconds she was standing in front of Bella wearing the black bubble dress.
"What do you think?" asked Alice.
"It's stunning. I think you should get it! I think I'm going to get the red one. The purple on that you found wasn't very flattering on me," said Bella.
"Okay let's go find some shoes!" said Alice excitedly.
They gave the dresses they didn't want to the lady and went to the shoe department. There they tried on over 10 pairs of shoes each and finally found the perfect ones. Alice found some gold high heels with a sort of flower in the middle and Bella found some simple point toed red heels.
"Okay now ACCESSORIES!" squealed Alice.
"Oh no we're never going to get out of here," muttered Bella under her breath.
"I heard that," said Alice.
"I know," snapped Bella. "Come on let's get this over with."
After half an hour they found a pair of earrings each. Bella found a pair of silver dangly earrings and Alice found a pair of gold earrings with gold circles on them.
"Let's go to the register," said Bella. "My dad's going to kill me once he finds out how much this costs," she muttered looking at the price tag on the dress.
"Quit worrying silly! I'll pay for it all," said Alice with a mock grin on her face.
"What?! Charlie will have a fit! You can't-" she was cut off.
"I already talked to Charlie! He said I could take you shopping as long as I kept the price reasonable.
"Oh okay. Hi," she redirected her attention to the cashier.
Alice and Bella handed their stuff to her and Alice whipped out her AmEx.
"Here you go," said the cashier handing them their garment bags with the dresses in them and the shopping bags with the shoes and the earrings in them. They walked out to Alice's Porsche, which Edward let her use on occasion. Alice put the bags in the trunk and Bella put the garment bags on the hook in the backseat.
As Alice closed the trunk she suddenly went stiff and muttered "Bella get in the car."
"Why?"
"Just trust me. Start the car and put your seatbelt on. Fast!"
"Alice what's going on?"
"Bella just get in the car! I'll explain on the way," she said with clenched teeth.
She quickly walked to the car, got in, and stepped on the gas.
"Alice, you are going over the speed limit by almost 50 mph! Slow down!" said Bella with panic in her voice.
"Bella, I can't slow down because-" she cringed and sighed. "Bella… Victoria has Edward."
