Just One Look

She'd known him for years. She knew him inside out, he knew her outside in. There was nothing that they didn't know about each other. He knew when she'd gotten her first kiss; she knew when he'd gotten into a fight and what it was about. She patched him up when he wasn't a good sight, and he teased her relentlessly about her love life, or lack of.
Then, it was just one look across a boring ball. She was sitting, waiting for something amusing to happen which it rarely did and she happened to look up. He was watching her, and their eyes met. That was all it took, just one little look. She couldn't breathe, she felt the entire room close around her and all she could do was meet his relentless stare. Because she was sure her feelings mirrored the ones she saw in his eyes, because she was sure that no one else was aware of the heat that flashed between them.
Oh she'd liked him for the past years, couldn't help but want him as more then a friend at times. But that, that one look sent her spiraling into the unknown and it wasn't entirely unpleasant. She kept looking as he crossed the ball room towards her. She wasn't sure what they were going to do now that it was brought to the open but she was sure she wasn't going to have very much experience in what was happening.
And it was all because she'd seen her entire future in just one look.
A/N: I have no idea what that was. It just randomly passed through my head while I was sitting down listening to music and I just started to write it. It's okay. I'm not really sure what pairing but I guess it applies either to Kel/Dom or Miri/Evin just because I think it kind of fits both. I'm not sure. I guess it could be taken as any pairing that fits around that area.
