Mermaids in the Hidden Leaf
Prologue
Once hidden in the deep oceans of the Mist country, a mermaid village lay hidden. The village was small, but held the most beautiful, mystical, and mysterious creatures in the deep. But one day, immoral men came in search of these creatures. The mermaids hid themselves in hopes they would not be found. The men had already arrived in the village and tore the once peaceful village apart in search of them.
Slowly and carefully, the most powerful and elderly mermaid came and showed herself. She had the most mysterious deep sapphire eyes, long golden hair, and a sapphire colored tail. In her hands she held the source of her magical powers, a long, worn, golden staff.
"Be gone of our home!" she cried to the men, though they did not listen. A sly grin appeared on one of the men's face as he neared the mermaid. She did not like his nearing, so she tapped her staff lightly to the ground and a rumbling started. A crack appeared under the man and slowly got larger, and soon the man fell into the deep crack, which started to recede.
"Who else dares to cross my path will face their own death!" screamed the elder.
"Kimi-sama, please!" cried a voice of a younger mermaid.
"Take the two young ones to the safety of the shores! I will call you when in the time is right!" was all that came in reply. Soon a battle ensued between the great mermaid Kimi and the men while the young mermaid took the two young ones to the shores where they took on human form.
"I have marked you and I with the kanji for water. This will keep you in human form unless there is a full moon, which is when our powers are the strongest," said the young mermaid to the two young ones. "Until the silent war in the deep is over, we shall live among the humans."
She took the two by their hands to help steady their new legs as they walked along a path that led into a nearby forest. Little did they know that in it, lied the prestigious village called Konoha.
