Your name is Robin. You find yourself faced with a choice.
The Fell Dragon Grima stands before you on the brink of death. Chrom's Falchion has been blessed for just this moment, the moment when the Fell Dragon would once again be put to sleep. Sleep, meaning that he will awaken again eventually. On the other hand, you have the power to end it all right here, unfortunately, ending it all includes ending yourself. As Chrom grips his Falchion to deal the final blow you reflect on your choices.
You could live.
You could stand by and do nothing, allow Chrom to be the hero he was meant to be, and let him put Grima to sleep. Would anyone blame you? A part of you wants to say "yes", but you know they won't, how could they blame someone that they adore oh so much for not killing himself? You could live happily with your wife and daughter, spend the rest of your days in comfortable luxurious peace. But if Grima awakened again, what would happen? Would you be prepared next time? Would you even be alive next time? Would all of this suffering have been in vain?
You could die.
You have the chance, you could use Grima's own power against him, and finish him off once and for all. Would anyone blame you? Yes, you're sure of it, they would grieve and cry for you, their beloved tactician, their beloved friend. Your wife and daughter would probably be hurt the most. They would cry, probably for days, but at least they would never have to suffer the horrors of war again. They would find peace eventually, wouldn't they? They'd be happy, wouldn't they? They'd be grateful, wouldn't they?
As you stand here reflecting on your choices you come to a conclusion: you never had a choice to make, only a question to answer.
