Way back into love

I've been living with a shadow overhead
I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I've been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on

Remus and Tonks had been walking down the hallway in silence for the past ten minutes. He had some serious thinking to do and seemed to know that. She always knew. How she did he had no idea but right now he didn't care at all about that.

I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need em again someday
I've been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

"You deserve someone young." He stated. He would not ruin her life.

"And you deserve someone who loves you!" he sighed this would not be an easy argument.

"But that's just it! I don't deserve it."

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love

"Remus, you are the one person I know that deserves to be loved the most."

"I'm a monster."

"You're a human being with a heart and soul."

I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I've been searching but I just don't see the signs
I know that it's out there
There's got to be something for my soul somewhere

"What if we were to have children and they were like me?"

"You have no way to prove that and if they even had 1/8 of you in them I would be proud to call them my children!"

I've been looking for someone to shed some light

I could use some direction

"I'm too old for you!" his voice was starting to weaken.

"Does it look like I care? I could have someone younger but I don't want them! I want you!"

"I'm too poor! You wouldn't be able to run a decent house!"

"Me? A housewife? As if! Besides, I make enough for the two of us if necessary."

I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation

"You'd be in constant danger."

"What would you say I'm in now? A field full of butterflies! Voldemort is back and Dumbledore is dead! I'm an auror for Christ's sake! I'm always in danger! Damnit Remus, I love you!" she sat down on a bench, placing her face in her hands.

"Tonks?" he said timidly. She looked up from her spot on the bench.

"Yes?"

"I love you too." Her mass of brown turned bubble gum pink right to the tips.
