Music meme of sorts. I like doing this to break up writer's block or let out emotions kind of. I don't know when/ if ever this will end. I'll add to it whenever I have time. Just like, add on mini drabbles.
Yesterdays: Switchfoot
The smooth breeze of the wind blowing across his face brought back memories that pierced his heart.
"I remember you like yestreday, yesterday."
Images of the grumpy blonde boy he met in the park flashed across his mind. Their first meeting, he had sat down on the other side of the bench, lit up a smoke, and stared off into space.
"What do you want, kid?" It was a while before he answered.
"I want to be free." He had nodded and that was the end of their conversation. They spent over an hour like that, sitting quietly in each other's company, before the blonde rose and left without a word.
They met again in that same park, acknowledging each other with a slight nod of the head.
"Where do you want to go then?"
"It doesn't matter. I just need to be free. I want to be the wind. To just go." He nodded along, trying to figure out what was under the surface of the petit male beside him while understanding what he meant. Before the blonde left this time he stood up on his tip toes and whispered, Roxas, in his ear. He kissed his cheek and left the park leaving the red head standing there dumbfounded with a hand pressed to his cheek.
He saw him again on the television. A sixteen year old suicide. He watched the procession of black cars roll down his street, the wind blowing through him and drying tears not cried.
"I still can't believe you're gone."
The last time he saw him was in a dream. They were alone for their last good-bye. The blonde, Roxas, stood by his side. He smiled down at him. "Remember your life." His image slowly disappated as he slowly woke. "Until I'm with you, I'll carry on."
He hit the guitar chords with such force, trying to send the music on with the wind.
He was deaf to the crowd cheering below him, he was too absorbed in the carress of the wind, the way it swirled around him in an embrace.
"Every lament is a love song
Yesterday, yesterday
So long my friend, so long."
"You're free."
This one turned out a little more song fic-y than I originally planned but that's because this was the first time I really listened to the lyrics of this song and it hit me. It's such a sad, sad song. I don't like sad fics xDD So yeah. This one's bizarre but it's over. Lol.
