"NO!" Nico shouted as they neared the doors. They had spent hours in a non stop fight with Gaea's forces on both sides of the door, but now as they finally reached the door he could feel Annabeth and Percy slipping away from him.

"What? What is it?" Piper asked nervously.

"It's Percy and Annabeth, get the doors open NOW!"

The six of them struggled with the door and rushed inside. All around then were mutilated monsters and in the middle of it all was Percy and Annabeth.

Annabeth's head was laying in Percy's lap, clearly unconscious, while Percy struggled to keep consciousness let alone keep sitting up.

"NO!" A loud roar in their ears followed as they made their way to them. The Gods had finally come. To late.

The six turned to see Poseidon and Athena thundering towards them with the other Gods close behind. Lightning rained down.

"You dare use your fathers powers against us?" Poseidon roared.

Nico, Piper, Leo, Hazel and Frank had continued on to the two but Jason had turned to face the Gods.

"We require one God, and we wish we didn't even require that. Apollo, can you help them?"

Apollo stepped forward with a sheepish look on his face "I will do what I can." None of the other Gods moved as he made his way over to them.

"Son, think wisely about your choices." Zeus's voice was measured.

"I am thinking. Why should we let you in when you betrayed us? When you left us to die?"

The Gods looked at each other and then at the two young demigods who were now lying side by side and hand in hand.

Piper came to stand by Jason's side. She took his hand and squared her shoulders.

"Piper?" Aphrodite asked quietly.

"I stand by Jason always. Especially now, when he was here for me when my own mother was not."

Frank, Hazel, Leo, and Nico followed suit after Piper, Ares made a disgusted look while Hades and Hephaestus's eyes fell to the floor.

The demigods turned their backs on the Gods and made their way over to Apollo.

Apollo looked up at them, tears in his eyes. "I am sorry, but they are to far gone for even my help."

Nico glared and the floor while Piper sobbed into Jason's shirt. Frank held Hazel as silent tears rolled down her cheeks and Leo just stood there silently.

The Gods carefully made their way over to Percy and Annabeth. Athena and Poseidon standing over them.

Athena looked at Annabeth who's breaths had grown shallow "I cannot say that this is the wisest choice I have made." Annabeth smiled at her and reached up to grasp her mother with her free hand "Perhaps it was. Even the Gods can and will learn from your mistakes."

Poseidon knelt next to Percy "I am so sorry I failed you son. I never meant for any of this to happen." Percy smiled "Well I would hope that you wouldn't mean for it to happen," Percy gave a weak laugh then a cough, and then had a sudden serious look in his eyes "You never failed me dad. Never."

The Gods stepped away from their children as Percy looked at Annabeth who had a far away look in her eyes "Hey, come on, you're not getting away from me. Never again."

Annabeth smiled as she stared into Percy's eyes "As long as we're together. I love you seaweed brain."

Percy squeezed her hand "I love you too wise girl."

Their hands went slack, and Poseidon and Athena closed their eyes.

And together, holding hands, he and Annabeth died.
