One Day

Ziva smiled as she walked into the nearly empty gym. She loved many aspects of NCIS but the gym was not one of them. Perhaps it was because she had been spoilt at Mossad as field operatives had their own training centre which took up a whole building not just a basement. In Mossad she had also not had to deal with people who used the gym simply to socialize or pretend to exercise to appease their doctors or their wives. One thing she did like about the gym was the floor space. The floor space meant that after she exercised she could dance.

She finished her work out quickly but without skipping anything. She had worked up a nice sweat but was not exhausted. She peeled off her NCIS sweatshirt so she was dressed only in a blue sports bra and her tight exercise pants. She put the CD in the player and let her body moved to the music. As she did she felt the stress and troubles of the week float away. She let go.

Tony swiped his card to get into the gym, his date had cancelled so he had some spare time and the thought of going home to an empty apartment depressed him. So the gym had won out over paperwork.

He had gotten changed when he noticed the music. Though the gym often had music usually of the face paced variety, this music was different. It was classical and without lyrics and it reminded Tony of the music heroines used to listen to in old movies. He smirked as he thought of Ziva as an old movie heroine.

He looked out onto the main floor and found the source of the music. He also noticed his new partner dressed in very little and moving around the floor. He studied the way her body moved and each contour. She intoxicated him. He saw a much softer side of her as she moved. It seemed she had finally let her guard down.

He debated whether to interrupt with a joke or a movie reference but she looked so tranquil. After the weak they had she needed that piece. Instead he turned around and headed back to the changing rooms.

She had known the minute he walked into the room from his over applied cologne. She had felt his eyes watching her. Studying her. For a second she had thought about turning around offering a sultry comment but before she did he had walked away.

Maybe one day they would stop dancing around each other.
