A/N: Here's another story cause I had too many ideas to write out. :/
"If you want to go home that bad, then just go!" Katori yelled, not really caring about the explosive argument they were just having a few moments ago.
"Fine! Be that way!" Rokurou got up and made his way over to the exit.
"Ah, Rokkun!" Miura said, trying to call him back.
The door of the restaurant slammed shut, rattling from the force.
Somei looked at Katori with her usual serious stare. "You know, we won't get any higher in the B-rank wars if you two won't get along," she scolded.
Katori scoffed. "Maybe, just maybe. If he wasn't so hot-blooded about everything, we wouldn't be having any arguments at all." She pouted.
"You shouldn't say things that make him angry intentionally then. Reminding him that he still hasn't broke the wall to master class is one thing that makes him angry with you."
Katori looked away from Somei and poked at the now-cold food.
"There, there Yoko-chan. I'm sure tomorrow he'll come back around, and you guys can talk it out…"
"We'll see about that," she stated simply.
Yuuta sighed. Even after the rather encouraging talk after the rank battle between the Kakizaki Unit and Tamakoma 2, the mood is still rather tense between the two. He hopes the relationship between them will improve. They haven't got along at all, even when they first met. Hopefully, time should heal the broken cracks in the team.
Speaking of time, Yuuta checked the clock. 10:30 p.m. It is kind of late for just one person to walk home by himself. Rokurou's strong, so he should be fine. Right?
"She is always like that. Even after that crushing defeat against Tamakoma 2," Rokurou growled kicking a random rock into a gutter.
The Katori Unit were 'trying' to have a 'nice' chat over some food at a popular restaurant. A restaurant that Rokurou couldn't be bothered to remember the name of.
Yuuta planned this meeting so Katori and Wakamura could try to get along, but it didn't work. They got into another argument. Somei and Yuuta broke up the argument, but it did nothing to quell his anger. He left the restaurant, seething.
Why is she like this? Even she let out her tears of frustrations in front of her team, expressing her disappointment in herself for losing for the past few matches, she only tried for a week, before returning to her usual self.
Rokurou walked back to his home cutting through an alley muttering about what he should say to Katori tomorrow, he heard a small clattering noise. He looked behind him but saw nothing.
Now feeling a bit paranoid, he took out his trigger on a habit. He felt something hit his trigger. He looked over it to see… a piece of rock? He scanned the alleyway once more. Is this a horror story or what?
He faced forward and walked back home once again. He heard the noise again and turned back. There was nothing, but he knew someone, or something was there.
"Who's there!" he yelled, activating his trigger.
There was silence for a minute until something shot out at him. He dodged it and looked at the spot it is fired from. He ran toward the spot, readying his gun.
"What is this?" he questioned looking at gun contraption. He picked it up. He got hit the back making Rokurou stumble forward and dropping the contraption. Trion leaked from his wound. He turned around and fired his gun at the figure. The figure dodged it.
"Who are you?" he demanded, aiming his gun at the person.
The figure chuckled. "You don't need to know. All you need to know is that you'll never see this beautiful planet again."
"?" He watched the figure in front of him, but then his head got cut in half. His trion body exploded, but he didn't bail out.
"What?" he questioned as the smoke cleared to reveal his flesh body. "Why didn't I bail out?" He questioned out loud.
He turned around to see the second figure.
"Shit," he murmured. It seems that it isn't the time to be wondering about the bail out failure. He needed to escape.
He kept the two figures in his eyesight and looking around for a third person. It wasn't such a smart idea to go through a dark alleyway. He wondered if he should make a run for it.
He kicked a trash bin at them to distract them. Then, he ran toward the end of the alley. He heard the trashcan slam against the wall.
He ran toward the end of the alley. He kept glancing back at the two behind him and in front of him. Someone quickly blocked the exit. Rokurou skidded to halt.
Shit. He was surrounded. They closed in on him. Rokurou desperately scanned for an opening.
There! If he can quickly squeeze past the person blocking he exit… Rokurou threw a stone at him, then running past him.
He felt an elbow slam into his neck.
"G-gh!" He collapsed to the ground as he tried to breathe after getting the wind knocked out of him.
Rokurou felt cold hands hold him down. He struggled. No! He wouldn't let himself get captured like this.
Something pricked his neck. A… a tranquillizer? He saw black spots dance in his vision as he struggled to stay conscious.
"Don't take this personally, we just need some test subjects," the first person informed picking him up. "Well, a trigger user to be more exact."
The other person howled with laughter. "I think he should take it personally. He probably won't like what we're going to do to him."
"Shut it," the third person hissed.
The last things he saw before blacking out were that they drew something on the wall and his trigger falling out of his limp hand.
In the alleyway where Rokurou was kidnapped, the police were investigating with some Border agents there. They were searching for Rokurou Wakamura when a call came in with his mother saying that her son did not come home that night. They called Border as well since Rokurou was one of their agents.
They searched the area around the restaurant until they found the alley where a fight seemed to have taken place. They closed off the area with caution tape.
"What have you found, officer?" Yuuta asked, with Katori and Somei trailing him.
"Well, we concluded that he most likely have been attacked and kidnapped. He probably fought back due to the turned over trash cans and the bullet holes in the wall. We found his trigger and a picture on the other wall. That's all we found so far," the officer informed.
"Are you done marking the trigger?" asked Kazama.
"Ah, yes."
"We shall be taking it to examine it closer at Border headquarters."
"Alright," the police officer said handing it over in a bag. The Kazama Unit walked back to Border to get it examined.
"Who would have kidnapped Rokkun?" Yuuta asked his unit.
"If he got kidnapped there were probably too many people for him to handle," said Somei looking at the picture of the two black dots in a vertical line on the wall.
"Or, he was too weak," Katori said crossing her arms.
"Don't say that, Yoko-chan. I'm sure he got over-powered," Yuuta insisted.
"Whatever," she sighed, looking at the picture as well.
The Border agents who got sent over were the Kazama Unit, Katori Unit, and Tamakoma 2 who were coming over in a few minutes.
"Why did they send Tamakoma 2 over?" Katori huffed.
"They were free, so they could help us out," informed Somei.
"They should not come at all," growled Katori.
"Are you mad because you lost to them?" asked Somei.
"N-no!" retorted Katori, she turned red. "It's just that we would have been fine by ourselves." She turned around to look at the picture again.
Soon enough, Kazama Unit came back to the scene along with Tamakoma 2.
"What did you find out Rokurou's trigger?" asked Somei.
"The engineers found that the bailout function was cancelled by a piece of unknown metal attached to it, which explains why he couldn't escape," informed Kazama. "The engineers are still trying to figure out what it is."
"The kidnappers are pretty smart knowledgeable about Border's triggers," said Somei. "But, why did they target Rokurou?"
"Maybe, they were choosing a random agent they saw on the street and Wakamura-san happened to be that person?" Osamu suggested.
Katori looked away from him. "Well, there is nothing left for you guys to do except figure out what the two black circles mean."
Tamakoma 2 looked at the dots. They began whispering to each other.
Yuma-kun, which neighbour planet did this?" Chika asked her teammate.
"It's familiar… Just give me a second…" Kuga murmured, thinking about the times he travelled with his father.
"Hey, kid!" Yugo yelled.
"What dad?" Yuma yelled back. "And don't call me a kid!"
"You're my son and I can call you whatever I want! Anyway, take a look at this," Yugo pointed at a wall.
"It's… two dots… What about it?" Kuga said, looking for a chance to escape another boring lesson from his dad.
"Oi! It isn't all that boring! Not just any two dots, Yuma. It shows that the planet Plaoe came here before," Yugo explained.
"Who are they?"
"They are an errant planet. These two dots show that they have captured a person from here. You do not want to be captured by these guys."
"Why not?"
"Hmm. Nah, too gruesome for you."
"Wow. Anyways, if they are stupid enough to leave their mark, wouldn't they already have been attacked? Since they know who took their citizens?" Kuga asked.
"It would usually leave a planet in ruins, yes. But, they never take more than ten citizens every five years per planet. And their research can benefit other planets as well."
"Huh, I see. So, the people captured never return home?"
"Well, there is twenty percent that they may be released," responded Yugo.
"That's pretty high," Yuma remarked.
"But, most of them come out of it with injuries that cripple them for the rest of their lives and they end up dying anyway. So, there's actually a 0.01 percent they get back home," he said bluntly.
"Wow. So, basically, the answer is no, they never return home," Yuma pointed out.
"Don't be like that, Yuma. You have to think more optimistically," said Yugo, patting Yuma's shoulder.
"Says the one who dropped 'they end up dying anyway' bombshell," Yuma retorted.
"Ah," Yuma murmured. "They came here."
"Who?" asked Osamu.
"The planet Plaoe came here. Wakamura-senpai probably won't come back," Yuma responded.
"What do you mean?!" Katori snarled.
"Woah!" Osamu yelled.
"O-oh! Katori-senpai… How long were you listening in?" Chika nervously asked.
"Only heard the last past. Never mind that, what do you mean that stupid four-eyes won't come back?" Katori demanded.
Yuma looked at her, almost with pity. "It means he was captured by a neighbour that won't give him back."
"You're lying!"
Yuma looked straight at her, unnerving her, then it just pissed her off.
"Fine! I don't care if you don't answer." She turned and stormed out of the alleyway.
"Where are you going, Yoko-chan?" Yuuta asked.
"I'm just taking a short walk!" she yelled back.
She speed-walked down a street, angrily talking to herself. Why won't that pipsqueak tell her what he knew? Perhaps he wouldn't tell her because it will just hurt her. She stopped. No way, the information he has probably is fake anyway.
She looked down at her feet. Didn't Mikumo say that the kidnappers would have taken anyone who passed by? So, he wouldn't have got kidnapped if he didn't get angry at her and left the restaurant. Doesn't that mean it's her fault? No, the police will probably find him by two days and at most two weeks. Right?
"Jin-san." Kuga addressed as he entered his room.
Jin looked up from his laptop. "Yeah, Yuuma?"
"You heard about the neighbours kidnapping Wakamura-san?"
"Of course. They told everyone at Border, even the C-rankers. The gunners are pretty pissed that's he is gone. He was pretty doted on in the gunner community."
"Didn't you see this happening with your side effect?" Kuga asked.
"No… is what I told everyone else. But, I did see this happening."
"? You did?"
"…" Jin put his laptop down. "You said Plaoe took him, right?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, you didn't tell me they were quite aggressive."
"They aren't?"
Jin glanced at him. "Well, there was a way to prevent his capture."
"Why-," Kuga started to ask.
"Why didn't I stop it?" Jin interrupted. "Well. If I did, it would have been another Border agent. Or to be more exact, three people from Tamakoma 2."
"Us? I honestly find that hard to believe Jin-san." Kuga could now see the dark circles under his eyes.
"I know, right? You have a black trigger, which could easily defeat an A-rank unit. Even though you're agile in narrow spaces., you still would have been captured."
"Hm? Were we going to be captured in the same alley? Then, why couldn't you just prevent us and Wakamura-san from entering that alley?"
"…" Jin leaned back into his pillow. "Well, if I prevented all of you from being captured, it would have ended up with them attacking HQ directly and have at least five to fifteen agents kidnapped. Some of them B-rank and even A-rank."
"Are they really that strong?"
"Yes."
"… So, you sacrificed him," Kuga stated bluntly.
"…" Jin looked away. "It wasn't the best future. But, it's was the best future out of all of them."
"Will he ever come back?" 0.01 percent, he comes home, Kuga thought to himself.
"…" Jin said nothing.
Kuga looked away and left the room.
Jin sighed. "It's for the best, Yuuma. For all of us," he whispered. "The story must continue with or without him." A vision ran through his head. "Right?"
Among the rubble of man-made structures, broken ground, and the cries of the left-over animals of Meeden, a gate opens in the place called the Forbidden Zone in Mikado City. A figure steps out.
He shifted his goggles and looks around at the destruction. He asked himself, "What happened here?
