As a child I grew up in the small town of Castanet. I suppose I had a good life there, everyone was nice and always willing to help each other. I made a bunch of friends there, too. So many that I cannot possibly forget.

I also met my one best friend there.

Luke.

"Angela! Wake up!" Angela's mother called down from the kitchen. "Time for school!"

Young Angela sat up straight in her bed, her lush hazelnut curls were messy and hair sprawled across her face. She groaned wanting to get more sleep, but knew she couldn't.

Today was her first day of school in this town. She used to live up in the city nearby, but her parents got divorced making her mother move out here. So it was all brand new for the small girl.

The little brunette crawled out of bed and slapped on a shirt and a jacket. Hauling on some jeans and normal shoes. Fashion was never her thing, what did beauty have to do with anything anyway? She just never got the point.

"I'm here mom!" She called as she ran down the stairs, with her curls bouncing on her shoulders. Angie had pretty long hair, and it curled at the tips. Her mom always complimented it because of its luscious looks. "And I'm ready for school!"

"Alright, remember to be good. Okay?" Her mother laughed. "Also, no boyfriends!" She taunted her daughter playfully.

"Moooom, I doubt I'll even have one." Angela said, walking over to the front door slapping her backpack on her shoulder.

"Just making sure, dear." Giggles from her mom could be heard in the background.

The girl just rolled her eyes, opened up the door and walked out.

So, first day of school, huh? This'll be interesting. Let's just hope nothing bad happens today.

Angela's POV

I walked into the school, it was pretty small compared to the one I went to before. The chairs were so tiny and the board was covered in math problems I possibly couldn't figure out all on my own. So, I just sat down in the front row, in the middle to be exact.

"Uh, excuse me?" A voice from behind me called.

I turned around to see who it was, only to find out it was a boy with some spikey red hair. He was much taller than me, and he already had some muscles.

"Oh! Uh, am I in your seat?" I managed to squeak out of my mouth, lifting myself out of the seat.

"Well, yeah. But, you can sit there if you'd like," He spoke in a gentle tone. "I don't have to today."

"Oh, thanks." I gave him a smile, and sat back down. Turning the other way until I felt another poke on my shoulder.

"Hey, you're the new student. Right?" The boy from earlier said.

"Yeah. " I turned around. "I'm Angela, who're you?"

"I'm Owen!" He announced proudly. "The best blacksmith around here, well, next to my grandfather." Owen rubbed the back of his head.

"Oh, awesome!" I lightened up a bit. I finally had someone I could call a 'friend' now. "I can't do much… I'm just here to help my mom with the farm."

Kids started to pile into the classroom, and they were pretty loud to say the least. I looked around to see everyone, and I noticed all these kids had different personalities. As I was lost in my trance my ears reflected on a conversation Owen was having with a boy behind me.

"Woah, dude. Who's that sitting in your seat?" The boy said.

"The new girl, Angela." Owen spoke. "She's pretty nice."

"Oh."

I got a poke on my shoulder and turned around. To find a boy staring me down with a big grin, his blue hair messed up like a rat. And had a t-shirt that was too big for him. "Yo! What's up, Angela!" He said. "I heard you're new here!"

"Yeah, I am." I looked down, smiling. "Who're you?"

"I'm Luke!" He pumped his fists into the air. "The coolest boy you'll ever meet!"

And that's how our friendship started, just like that.
