I'm sorry! I haven't really updated! I wrote this story in Foreign Language when I was bored and liked it and so decided to post it. My first Dollhouse fic, sweet :) As I said in an author's note, it's finals week at my school (I'm actually typing this on my iPod touch after finishing my Health final) so I will have plenty of time to write. :) When I put this into a Word document I realized how short it actually is. Well, either way, allons-y!
...
Topher knew he was going to die. He may have been off his rocker, but he was aware that he wasn't going to see the next day.
As he set up his machine, he looked out at Los Angeles through the window of Adelle's old office. Oh, he was going to miss Adelle. She had been his rock, his foundation. Even in his insanity, she cared for him like a mother for her child.
For no apparent reason, Topher's mind snapped into "normal mode." He realized that somehow he might be able to make it out of this alive. He ran around frantically, opening doors so he could escape. He quickly finished setting up, then, getting ready to run, he activated the machine. He threw doors closed behind him, hoping to slow the path of the beam to him. Skipping multiple steps at a time, Topher bolted downstairs, making it down four flights before the blast reached him. He stopped for a second as the beam of light passed through him. The blast had knocked him out of lucidity, and he thought for a second, What are you doing, Topher? Then he realized, I'm alive. I made it.
Topher pushed open the doors in front of him, stepping out into Los Angeles. He watched as the Actives- or, well, those who used to be Actives- get up, realizing they were themselves again.
Then he saw Adelle. He began to smile, and the eyes of both locked in those of the other. Adelle opened her arms wide, and Topher barreled into her, nearly knocking her over.
"But... how?" Adelle asked when she regained her breath.
"I wasn't crazy. And I ran. Fast." Adelle smiled, and led Topher to her car. Together they drove back to Priya's home. Topher fell asleep quickly, content with being alive. Adelle drove, content with having her family- or most of it- still safe with her.

THE END! Yay! Actually it might not be the end. I have another chapter written in Adelle's POV and I can post it, but only if you, readers, want. So review. If I get less than 7 reviews telling me to post the next chapter, I won't. SO REVIEW! :)
