Behind her facade
Her tears left tracks down her face,
Like footprints in the sand,
The redness of her eyes gives away the sorrow,
The sorrow that fills he heart,
Tears for mistakes,
Tears for regrets,
For missed opportunities,
And memories from a lifetime ago,
Sorrow for her father,
Sorrow for her ex-lover,
The tears they fall so freely now,
But tomorrow morning when she will wake,
The tear tracks will be wiped away,
Like footprints in the sand are washed away by the tide,
No one will know,
About her tears,
About her sorrow,
Because she'll hide her emotions,
Just like every day…
