The mewling cat on top of Ryan's head faded from her dream as the corresponding noise in real life began to register in her brain. Consciousness unhappily started imposing itself on her as she became aware of Castle's thick, heavy arm, slung around her waist, and his strained moan, grating right in her ear.

"Jordan… uuggnnn." There was a pause and then more forcefully, "Jordan!"

Her shoulder instinctively rose against his cheek, barring his face from her ear. But being nudged just made his sleeping body readjust unconsciously, clinging more closely to her.

"Joooorrrdddaa…" It was a low, groan in the back of his throat that didn't quite make it all the way out, but blew hotly across her earlobe.

Kate clenched her jaw, getting frustrated.

"Castle," she whispered, nudging her elbow back slowly, into his bicep, trying to wake him up.

He grunted and she heard the name again as his knee shifted against the back of hers.

"Castle!" She whispered a little more sharply this time, kicking at his shins with the back of her heel.

She thought he was probably the absolute hardest oaf to wake up, because that still didn't do it and a whole string of "Jordan, Jordan, Jordan, Jordan," came tumbling out of his mouth as she shoved his arm off of her, and turned over to glare at him.

"Castle, shut. Up," she said. "I'm trying to sleep over here!"

His eyelids fluttered for a second and she thought he might wake up, but he didn't. Instead, he was blindly turning onto his stomach, rolling closer to her in the process. Before his big, clumsy body could roll back over her, she heaved his shoulder away and he flopped onto his back, still not waking.

She watched him for a second, expecting him to wake up, but the new position on his back just made his mouth fall open, and he sucked in a half gasp, half snore. She rolled her eyes at her lump of a boyfriend. He was clumsy even in his sleep.

Almost breaking a grin, she was just about to turn back over, when he started again.

"Jordan! Joorrdaan…"

"Oh, god!" she said – then slammed a pillow over her head.

A/N: This doesn't really have anything to do with this story, but I just wanted to say that I'm liking what I see in the sneaks. I read a bunch of people complaining on some comment boards, about the fact that we don't see enough Caskett affection. But I mean, for me, I don't need to see them all kissy or what not with physical affection. I've just been lacking the, like, familiar, relationshipy stuff where people just talk about non-work things and say things that imply that they actually live life together (e.g. "you know how you talk in your sleep?"). It seems, often on the show I feel like they work together and sleep together but they don't come across as super emotionally familiar, like I-don't-have-a-problem-sharing-emotional-stuff-with-you-cause-you're-my-SO. But this helped with that. Does that even make sense? Probably not. Whatever, bye.
